Ecko has been deEvoled into a simpleton the STRENGTH that he brought has not been moved to him being a moron pushing the button . . . I cannot see how the film just made him think that it was automatically think it was all world that the button be pushed. Mike. . . well . . . character weakness is getting worse and worse. I'm thinking just the oposite..Mike is gone..but as far as Ecko goes, I feel that he is one of the strongest characters. He went from this enforcer type mercinary to ths mysterious spritual type character. I think that he plays a very important role into what goes on in the series. He's obviously the most faithful of all the people on the show, and I'm pretty much sure there is more left for him than him just pushing the button.
Well, in the next episode we're supposed to see what happens when you don't push the button (aside from the hyroglyphics). Depending on the results, maybe the button won't be pushed anymore. I doubt it but it's a possibility.
waid...Ecko isn't a simpleton...he's more complex than most of the characters combined...he's talking about the importance of the simplicity of faith..of believing that what you do makes a difference. as opposed to scoffing at it. remember when he started telling Locke that? that everything Locke had done had been important?

I finally caught up and man, Michael...Michael would do anything for his kid, but 4 for 1, carzy...Anna Lucia and Libby being gone sux because not Kate is the only eye candy... Good background on how Anna Lucia got to Austrailia and Ecko and his miracle work...The others camp seems weird, but I'm sure theres a reason... I can't wait for the season finale...

great find! thanks. i found this passage most interesting (could Desmond be related by marriage to the DeGroots?): When Desmond evacuated the bunker he took certain things with him that he put in his backpack (see BACKPACK from the computer monitor for details) and yet he did not take this photo (see first pix) with him that was sitting prominently out in clear view. The photo appears to be of a happy couple ... possibly a girlfriend or wife. So why would he leave it behind? FACTS: The photo shows two people that appear like each other. The photo more than seems to have been taken some time before we meet Desmond on the island as he looks much younger. The photo was not taken on the island. SPECULATIONS: It is believed that the woman in the pix with Desmond is named Penny. The buildings in the background have a strong resemblance to the Hawaii Prince Hotel, Waikiki, Hawaii. Could this be a honeymoon picture (if it was taken in Hawaii)? The second photo is that of the woman that threw the bomb on the raft and was in the boat that abducted Walt. There is more than a slight resemblance. Could they be the same woman? And if they are, does Desmond know she's on the island? The raft bomber is one of the Others ... does this mean that Desmond is part of the Others, too? The third photo is that of Mrs. DeGroot (half of a husband and wife team that began the DHARMA Initiative. There is a resemblance between the girl in the photo with Desmond and the raft bomber. could they be the same woman or related? Since that photo of Mrs. DeGroot was taken in the 1960s, she she the mother of the girl in the photo with Desmond & the raft bomber (if they are the same woman)?

THAT'S what those were. I was trying to figure it out, but it goes so fast I couldn't determine. Interesting. Seems to indicate that the Pearl hatch might have been as much an experimental hatch as the Swan was. All the reports that were being sent never went to anyone. What a weird island.
