I hope this doesn't descend into Lord of the Flies I guess that would make LOCKE = Piggy Rocket River "I got the Conch!!!"
While I was watching Sawyer's speal, all I thought about was Animal Farm. How everyone starts off equal with Jack being the kind leader. Then the different characters then trying to get that leader position (Locke, Sawyer, etc.)
I recorded this episode on my DVR, but for whatever reason it cuts off after Sawyer gets back into his car (during a flashback) and begins counting "One Mississippi..." and then it cuts off. Can anyone tell me if there is anything significant that happens after that?
Yeah You can read what happened here: SPOILER: RECAP OF SHOW http://familyscreenscene.allinfoabout.com/lost/lost_2_longcon.html I would suggest finding a copy online though. Anyone notice it was Kate's Mom serving Sawyer in the diner?
That pretty much sums up Season 2, at least so far. I'll watch the remaining 9 episodes this year, but unless the writers get their act together, I'm not tuning in for Season 3.
Pretty strange symbols when that timer hit 0. Definitely heard the roar of a generator being activated, too. I paused the screen to get a better look at the symbols. One is definitely a bird, one looks like a flame, one looks like a stick figure rifle (or slanted BMW symbol), and the last one looks like a very skinny horseshoe with the left side longer than the right. All I know is, they're not the same symbols that correspond to each Dharma bunker (which I previously thought before going back and pausing the screen). Anyone notice the picture of Kate the soldier was holding in the jeep?
I'm beginning to detest Jack. Cozying up to Ana Lucia was bad enough, but he has become a righteous butthole. Locke should've put him in his place.
That was an awesome episode. Definetly the best of this season, and one of the best overall. I really got into it when the buzzer was going off and the timer was almost up and then went to zero.
You might be right, but some of the symbols don't match up with the Egyptian alphabet. The first letter is either "C" or "S." (Next letter never flipped over.) The next letter could be "R." The bird is either "V," "W", or "A." I have no clue what the stick figure BMW symbol is. Doesn't spell anything to me. Oh well.
How can it be adequately translated when one letter is missing? Still an interesting theory, if correct.
I really liked last nights show.. I really liked how the countdown at the end left us guessing as to what will happen when they let the timer go.. anyone know what might have been starting up before Locke got the code right? I think the new guy is lying and he is one of the "others"..
Got this from another website. *SPOILERS I GUESS* http://lost.cubit.net/pics/2x14/glyphs.jpg The symbols are identical, which is rare. My guess is they had the exact book of translation and copied the symbols verbatim. You can see the bottom of the missing symbol, and it matches the bottom of the second letter. Plus, someone else entered the letters into an Egyption translator that allows wild-cards, and it came up with the same result. That said, there are a lot of other symbols that flash by while they're still flipping, so who knows what it all means. I can't really take credit for all this, but I was curious last night so I did a little research on some other pages.
Thank for the info. I like the episode last nite. I think Jack has more than a right act the way he has esp. after what happened last week. I don't think he can truly trust Lockes judgement, however, I do think that guy is one of the "others"
