Whatever she was she was smoking hot. Anyways, good episode, like to see how this whole "army" thing is gonna work for Jack. Does anyone else kind of sort of wish Kate would have gotten shot last nite?
Are you aware that they foreshadowed the tail section survivors back in the first handful of episodes last year? It was planned from the start. Why would a show doing so well (~20 million viewer avg) jump the shark anyways? This isn't 'Housewives' where they start throwing in ridiculous "controversial" episodes or ridiculous plotlines to keep viewers from leaving. Rest assured, JJ Abrahms and the other creaters outlined the 7 seasons and they're sticking to the game plan. The only way that changes is if (1) a principle actor asks out or (2) ratings fall well outside the top 10. Evan
First of all, I don't believe for a second that they planned out the first 2 seasons much less all 7. Secondly, there's not enough plot to sustain the show for that long. If ABC and the creators were smart instead of greedy, they'd wrap everything up in 3-4 seasons and it could go down in TV history as one of the best shows ever. Instead, they're gonna ruin it just like Chris Carter did with The X-Files. This season(and the last 1/3 of Season 1) is already vastly inferior to the first 2/3s of last year.
Believe what you want, but the producers have been saying from day 1 that they had the main plot points set up. Subplots like love triangles and other character interactions are play-as-they-go. They'll move the central plot along as slowly as they want as long as the show is doing well. Consider how little we've seen in the 35 episodes so far. You think they can't stretch that out for 100+ episodes? Evan
Things I didn't understand from last night's episode: Did Sawyer get shot again? Looked like he had blood on his hand after you heard the shot, but they never showed/talked about it again. Why did Jack pick AnaL to ask about training an army. Wouldn't it make more sense to ask the person on the show who was actually in an army? Why did the rogue group on the other side of the island who had so far been taking everyone from the plane that they could hostage let the group that was trying to find Michael go?
not only that, but why didn't jack/locke/sawyer ask the bearded guy any questions? you know, like where are you from and how long have YOU been here. also, when the bearded guy told them to just go home, where was the reaction of "we don't know HOW to get off this island" or "where are we supposed to go".
I'm sure they can. But viewers aren't gonna stick around if it stays like this. Mark my words, ratings will start to drop this time next season if they don't start answering at least some of these questions(and preferably without introducing half a dozen new mysteries simultaneously). I know I don't look forward to this show anywhere near as much as I used to. Hell, if Veronica Mars was available in HD through Time Warner, I'd be watching that instead.
Sawyer was grazed (the others are accurate shots I guess), I thought it was in the cheek, but I'm not sure. I thought the same thing, but it's only been a few days since Shannon died and I don't think he went straight to her to ask her that specefic question. The bearded guy said something about Walt being special and a good boy and they obviously go after children, remember they tried to get Claire's baby and they took the french woman's baby as well as the two kids from the tail section. I think they only go after people who are innocent, while the main characters seem to have something questionable in all their backgrounds. I don't know why they didn't ask, maybe they knew they would get no answers, or actually, the people making the show didn't want to reveal more about them yet. When he said "go home," he meant their camp.
At the Golden Globes the JJ Abrams said the this show was based on faith. In the Bible (Hebrews 11-1) Faith is the evidence of things hoped for and the substance of things not seen. Remember all the dead people were seen because the characters hoped to see them again, most recently Shannon wanting to see Walt again and michael having "evidence" of Walts existence through the computer. There are a lot of things not seen. Is the substance of those things the answer to all the questions? Think I'm on to something?
No, I think you are on something. But I have never understood allegory. I thought Moby Dick was about whaling.
I only heard one gun shot so think Sawyer was hit by a riccochet (sp), off of what, who knows. I think there were not many others around as Jack said, mostly tricks. The others want you to think they are stronger in numbers than they are--why they have spies and are selective in targets rather than direct confrontation. Stupid Kate. I like the Army training idea. Sayid and Ana L., go train em, and then go butcher some others.
This last episode irritated the crap outta me. No new secrets/mysteries, just people treating Charlie like crap because he's having a nervous breakdown. No love for the fact that he almost died trying to save Claire, the fact that he saved Jack's ass in the cave-in, and the fact that like 10 Lost days ago, he saved Aaron from the Frenchwoman. What has Jack done lately but give two semi-automatic rifles and three pistols to the Others and befriend the woman that killed Shannon...and he's the hero? Bring back the tension and mystery please. I'll give this episode a pass.
I agree.. this episode was weak.. It looks like next weeks might be a good one with someone getting kidnapped and all..
