Evangaline Lilly's character was a criminal and on the run from the cops. She tries to see her mom at a hospital, but her mom tries to turn her in. A doctor there is her childhood sweetheart who was trying to help her and while trying to get out of the hospital, he dies helping her and she is charged with his murder I think. Earlier, there is a flashback where she robs a bank by pretending to be a customer and her "gang" rough her up and threaten to kill her to get the manager to open the vault. All she wanted was a toy plane that was in a safety deposit box. When the head of the bank robbers is about to kill a hostage she kills him if I remember correctly. Anyways, it turns out that toy plane belonged to the childhood sweetheart and before they went to the hospital, the two of them had gone out to a tree where they burried some things that were important to them as kids. I don't know how the toy plane goes from there to the safety deposit box though.
Shannon sucks. They were still in a potentially dangerous situation and she goes into the dark forest to look for her dog. Sayid will probably die because of her.
Good opener least night. I am just now getting hooked on this show after watching some of the re-runs this summer. How did the older guy start walking after he was in a wheelchair? I like his character
Locke just started walking after the plane crash. There's been no explanation. I guess it's just a miracle, kinda like Julie Bowen's character wiggling her toes in the flashback last night.
I missed the first half of the show, so I didn't know about Shannon, I was wondering why she would "come accross a familiar face" in the woods. I'm really tired of that plot device though. I was pissed off when it happened in Invasion, but now I see it happened in Lost as well. Does anybody esle agree that this "i have to find sparky even if it means running out into certain danger and endangering others who search for me" thing is played out?
I don't think the writers even know where their going with this. Their just writing one episode at a time. I have a feeling that when it is all said and done...it's going to be some completely dumb premise behind it that makes absolutely no sense or is full of holes. Enjoy the ride but, when the ride ends, don't ask too many questions cause there probably aren't any good answers. Just play dumb and assume a blank stare when it's all over.
^^^ What you're alluding to is how 24 seems to be written. Storylines are way over the top and characters are put in preposterous situations. If Kate is ever stalked by a mountain lion and is saved by Johnny Drama, then yes this show is being written episode by episode. I'm thinking this is headed for the X-Files career. Fantastic start and rise. Then they run out of story and it just becomes unwatchable and makes long time fans pretend the last two seasons did not happen.
I'm pretty sure that they already have the series arc planned out. So, the writers know everything already and aren't making it up as they go.
they're dead and stuck in purgatory, facing their demons while good and evil battle for their souls. evil is personified by the others; good by desmond, who served as jack's guardian angel in the flashbacks and is now the guy in the hatch. what i don't know (and someone more... biblically inclined might) is what role walt plays in being the chosen one - is a christ-like saviour? a fallen angel? no idea. anyway, EVERYBODY is inter-related somehow. did anyone catch that the guy who jack didn't save last night was shannon's dad? these kind of chance "meetings" have dotted each episode. and, of course, the numbers played a central role in the hatch happenings, which were cool. plus, i think the magnet inside the hatch is what drew the plane to the island, or we saw a glimpse of what potentially could have drawn the plane to the island. i'm not a virgin, btw - i like girls. seriously.
it does feel like the writers are making it up as they go. the episode last nite didnt answer crap! it just threw out another mistery, who da hell is the guy in the underground bunker? why does he have running water, electricity, and food. what the hell was he injecting into his arm? and what the hell happened to walt, michael, jin, and sawyer?
I'm sure they have the major plot points down but the human element and interactions are more open to change. Also, specific, as-of-yet unknown elements can change in the show...like "what is down that hatch?" went through an ongoing debate into the season. The following link has an interview with the co-producer/co-creator who discusses some interesting points about the show. According to him, the show already has an ending and a number of episodes that it can be. http://actionadventure.about.com/od/lost/p/aalindeloffL1.htm
wait, where did you devine this from? he wasn't really even on screen, and all we knew was he was "driving the car the SUV lady hit." it's an interesting idea though, as there was some shannon-focused stuff going on in the rest of the epsiode. and is anyone else bothered that they basically punted on the whole "guys on the raft" aspect, except for the mystery walt sighting. man down the hatch? ICBM launch officer, although the scots or irish accent is a bit confusing...
They didn't say it was Shannon's dad, but they had the same last name of Rutherford. I want them to show a flashback of Jack and Sarah coming across her old fiancee, and Jack saying, "Yes, she can! And guess who's hitting it?" (pointing at himself) I watched the episode again, and noticed that bunker man's hideout had windows, shade, and light coming in. He also had fresh fruit for his blender. I'm not sure how this is possible. The thing that throws me off that this might be a flashback is the Apple computer from 1982.
fruit could be canned. the computer is old but you look at most of his appliance in the beginning and you can tell they aren't old.
