I'm losing interest as well. I try to watch the games but I usually end up falling asleep.

I started losing some interest after we traded for McGrady, which seems strange but probably has more to do with me getting older than anything. But, compounding that problem with losing makes it real hard to stay interested. I'm still following for now, though I've noticed I spend maybe 10 minutes in GARM and the rest of the day in Hangout.

It was very annoying during yesterday's game that Clyde and Bill were talking non-basketball releated stuff for the entire second quarter while Rockets was fighting hard to come back. It seems that they lost their interested in the Rockets basketball and were more excited with the No.1 draft in NFL. This is very very annoying.

"I've enjoyed the last two games more than many this year. I love the fight these underdogs have."

I agree- these guys never give up. Lot of grit and character.Even if our race horses do not come back soon enough to get us in the playoffs, we get to see what Luther and JLIII are capable of. This team will improve with healing.

I will continue to go to games. I could not go last nite to Kings game, but will be there next Wed. It's tough driving from Beaumont for a game and going in to work early in am, but I will do it and continue to do so.

I still watch, but I pay more attention to the young players to see if they are going to make it.

I have not lost interest in the rockets. They are my favorite sports team and always will be. But with that being said I really can't watch the games right now. I have little interest in watching our current rotation. The rockets play a grind it out kind of game and don't shoot very well. I do not like watching boring basketball and that is what I have been seeing lately.

Band wagon gets lighter and lighter everyday.....

Dude, part of being a real fan is pain, at least in my opinion.

Been a lifelong, 25+ years, Rockets, Astros, and Bears fan....through thick and thin I've followed them.

Suffering through these times make the time we are up even better.

When the Rockets look as bad as they do, they don't deserve fans. Bleed red all you want, I'll keep my sanity and watch "Seinfeld" reruns. I'm at the point of saying blow this team up. Get rid of the dead weight, which is pretty much everyone.

Its strange, but I also find myself watching and enjoying the games where there is no tmac and yao. Since baskets are rare, I find myself cheering for every single shot made, like it was a last second shot to win, but not. Last nite, even though the game was ugly to watch, I loved watching 8 guys bust their asses after a double OT game on a back to back. I love rooting for the underdog, and see how hard they play knowing more than likely theyll lose. I like to see the young players develop their game and do something special. It makes you appreciate what you have and had.

All this is probably shortening my lifespan, but for those bandwagon fans, and the diehard fans who have decided the best thing is to tank the season, here's an attempt at a quote from a movie I can't remember:

    Never give up! Never surrender!!

Bingo. I watch but I ain't tracking the defense, watching the offensive sets, etc., like I used to. Just kinda watching the action staring into oblivion, taking care of email, etc. Like last night's game, we're down 5 with 3 minutes left. I knew the odds of us pulling that out were like 1 in 100. With Yao or TMac, I'd be glued to the set. Not now though. It's very easy to get distracted. I did turn up the volume when Bill and Clyde were talking to Vince Young though. I find myself much more interested in the moves that the Texans and Astros are going to make then what the Rox are gonna do.

Speaking of moves, it seems like we aren't going to make any???? We're hearing no rumors of anything. Doc Rocket has went into the deep freeze. Nothing has materialized. And it's so obvious that we've got to do something for the short term and the long term. We have to acquire a 3rd go to player that can score and create for themselves.

I'm sorry, Luther is a nice looking player. But he can't finish or create very well for himself off the dribble. I'm not for sure how much improvement he can make at least this year. Juwon can't carry us or force the double team. Teams are happy to let him go off for 24 and shut down everybody else....because there is no one else that can even get 15 consistently and efficiently. Rafer is a great ball handler, decent passer, average shooter, average finisher. Nothing special there. He would be really good with another scorer on the floor. He's a point guard distributor, not a scorer. Even his jumper looks different than it looked with Miami and Toronto....all arms and no legs.

It's just plain as the nose on your face that this group minus our 2 superstars can't beat anybody. We've just lost to the Bobcats, the Hornets, and the Kings. What else is there to say? Yeah, they played hard, they gave good effort, blah, blah blah, blah. They're just not good enough to get it done.

DA? Sura? Barry? Stro?? Those guys aren't difference makers or 3rd options. I'm sorry. They're all complimentary players. Stro has potential like he has had for the first 4 years of his career but his game is so underdeveloped it's like watching a 13 year old in second grade.

Why are the rumors dead calm right now? This board would normally jumping with rumors after multiple losses.

Yeah, I know we are only 5.5 games out of the 7th playoff slot, etc. etc. etc. And I believe that if TMac and Yao get healthy we will come flying down the stretch and make the playoffs. But, for what? We're gonna get exposed in the playoffs again. I just don't see these guys getting better. Yao and TMac were carrying them before they got injured. And they haven't shown they can beat even the dregs of the league without them. What makes us think they are getting better? We can't even play .500 ball with just one of those 2 off the floor. It's plainly obvious that come playoff time, we aren't gonna be able to play both of those guys for 48 minutes every game. When one of them is out, then we are going to bog down against teams like the Mavs, Spurs, who have multiple threats and firepower coming off the bench and all they gotta do is force the ball out of the 1 superstar's hands and force the other 4 guys to shoot it. It's really pretty basic. If Yao is out, then double the ball out of Tracy's hands and vice versa. We're done at that point. Hey, it's been difficult enough for this team to win with both of them on the floor. They've got to play too many minutes at full tilt to bring home the W. It won't work in the playoffs.

Why would the Artest trade be holding up other moves especially as related to us.......unless we are involved in the deal somehow?? Or is there just no deals that will help us out there? Spree and Big Dog still hanging out at the house? Yeah, no defense from Big Dog, but he can put the ball in the hole. Mo Pete? Jalen Rose? Harrington? Artest? Peja? Ben Gordon? Wally? Seems to be a lot of scorers out there being dangled around. We aren't even mentioned with any of them.

This was from Chad Ford's chat today on ESPN.com--I guess a lot of people are writing the Rox off...

Mark (Anaheim, CA): How will the Houston Rockets succeed without Mcgrady and Yao despite the talent that they have on the lineup? (like Swift, Wesley, Mutombo, Head, Alston and others)

SportsNation Chad Ford: They won't. They'll be picking high in the lottery this season. That may not be a bad thing. The Rockets gave up all their depth when they traded for McGrady. A high lottery pick could give them that third guy that they desperately need. A player like LaMarcus Aldridge would be a great fit in Houston.

What's odd for me is that I find myself getting bored watching home games but I still watch all the road games from start to finish. Road games just seem more exciting for some reason.

    OP amounts to:

"Do you guys ever get bored of your wife? Now that mine has put on about 20 pounds, I've found myself staring at much younger, hotter, women. Sometimes I sleep with the hotties instead of my wife-- they're so much more fun. Am I alone in this?"

How can I get an accurate read on all of our player's abilities if I don't watch all/most of the games? I love watching them play. I expect them to lose, but I am pleased with the effort. If we do end up having to tank the season I hope it's with this kind of effort. It wouldn't be violating some sports code to just not measure up talent wise.
