Yet another major success for Obama -- the economy is starting to roar again with innovative ideas from companies like Tesla.
QUOTE--->Me (referring to Paypal and the ventures it helped foster) QUOTE--->You--->Yep, they got rich while we took all the risk and got no return. um...the purchase of cars is a reduction in the price to the American consumer of a zero-emissions car that is quieter, and fosters less dependence on sketchy foreign energy sources. I think the American government would get a hell of a lot more return on that then what it currently sadles up to GE for being GE, and military contractors for vastly overcharging the American people, and getting high while doing so. You also seem to be confusing a subsidy with a purchase? but in any case, I thought this would be amusing for you. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/the-stoner-arms-dealers-20110316
You know what would lessen our dependence on foreign energy? Letting California use proven safe methods to get the oil they have.
American oil reserves are a piss in the puddle compared to global reserves. If you want to play that limited short-term game, go for it, there's plenty of subsidies for exploration as well.
Of course they did, it would be incredibly idiotic and inefficient from corporate finance perspective if they didn't do that.
I'd rather keep on relying on foreign oil and keep our oil reserves untapped and available for the future.
Tesla faces investigation over feature allowing drivers to play video games while car is moving https://theweek.com/news/1008356/te...llowing-drivers-to-play-video-games-while-car
Wow, a 9 yr old thread. What a great success. It's funny how pretty much all conservative leaders back then were against gov investment in Tesla. And how now, some liberal leaders are against Musk for not paying a fair share of his taxes. Looking back at this thread, the cost reduction was exactly where I thought it would be. Tesla battery cost has plummeted from roughly $400 per kWh to $150 per kWh. For a 70kWh battery, that’s a cost reduction from 28k to 10k. Telsa is expecting to reduce battery cost by half in another 3 years. This is how Telsa is driving costs way down while making a great profit.

Good question. I miss the guy. Hope he's OK. Maybe he decided to take an extended hiatus. Fingers crossed that it's something like that and not a really serious issue.
It's the only sign of activity on his profile since his covid episode. It's not a good sign, but some activity is at least better than none?
