The chance of us even seeing the Lakers in the playoffs is pretty damn small. What do we care if they make it or not? If anything, our chances marginally improve with the Lakers in the mix, if they are indeed a more dangerous team than the Jazz. If we do meet them in the playoffs, we have a better chance of beating them than we do beating the Spurs or Thunder (since they are obviously dysnfunctional and their late success could be fleeting), and they can wear out our opponent even if they get eliminated before meeting us. I am more inclined to consider throwing the last game of the season if it means letting a potential giant-killer into the postseason (but still wouldn't because the chance of them keeping Howard goes up a lot if they make the playoffs, and because I hate the Lakers).
Why the h*** does everyone care if the Lakers make the playoffs or not. Its not like the Roxs will have to play them in the first round. We're still trying to make the playoffs and if possible, trying to get the 6th seed tp have any sort of shot in the first round. I'm not gona risk that just so it moves Lakers a half game back for a playoff spot smh. And regardless of what we do, Lakers will make the playoffs no matter what. Kobe (if his injury isnt serious) just wont let them miss it
stupidest thread ever. we have what 20ish games left and you think one game is going to decide them getting in or out? by the time the regular season is done i dont think its going to be decided by a game. i think 8th and 9th spot will be separated by at least 3 wins. LA isn't going to make it anyway since kobe is injured
The Jazz ruined our playoff dreams 2 times in a row, you don't let them off the hook ever. This is fact not opinion. And yes I was the guy at the Toyota Center cheering when during pre-game warmup the PA announced Jazz Owner Larry Miller had died. The hate is that strong, I don't feel bad about what I did.
I want to win because I want the Rockets to match up with Memphis in the playoffs, I think that is our best chance to get out of the first round. Speaking of the Lakers I have always hated them and I couldn't stand Kobe. But as Kobe has gotten older and is the player most like Jordan (heart wise, with the will to win), I find myself wanting him to win as long as he isn't playing the Rockets. Like him or not he is one of the greatest players of all time and I will be sad to see him retire.
I know, I expect more of myself but if I see or hear Jazz I just get so angry. I'm actually a decent human being most of the time. in my defense, Miller refused to put together a team of respectable players and refused to change the name to something that actually reflected the City of Salt Lake or Utah. He choose to keep the name just to spite the NBA, the city of New Orleans, and NBA fans. Basically he's up there with Saddam and Osama.
This is a ridiculous thread but made me wonder, you think a team like the spurs would let us and the jazz win to avoid a first round match up against Lakers?
