This is the kind of thread you get when you have 'fanboys' rather than true diehard fans.... All this circle jerk nonsense about stats and MVP... blah blah blah... Idgaf what prizes or awards or whatever Harden (or anybody) gets... if it ain't a ring - then it don't mean a thing.... period.
Championship(s) is the only cure to changing a players legacy. Right now, Harden is and will always be the no defense joke no matter how good he plays on offense. This is going to be his legacy. Much like how Dirk was the choker, and there were constant jokes about his style and look and the nicknames like Noringski and his lack of D, all of that was erased with one great playoff run that resulted in a ring. Now he seems to be one of the most respected players i can remember the past decade. All before that ring was completely erased from memory. Same can happen for James Harden.
I'm just going to enjoy the games. Finally have some games that mean something. Don't really care about MVP race, and don't really care how others view the Rockets. Let's just enjoy the games.
What TF are you talking about? If we win the series, the series win speaks at a higher volume than the media. F the media, we're Houston.
for Harden it's also a lose/lose scenario. People are like, "we don't care if Harden doesn't win MVP, we just want to win Rings". yea okay, well, how about not getting either. Harden lose MVP -> Harden lose to Spurs/Warriors
There is no such thing as a "lose-lose" scenario for the Rockets. I do believe in "There is no pleasing Clutchfans" though.
At this point, it's time to stop thinking about the media perception of Harden or our team and just focus on playing playoff basketball. The team shouldn't be trying to win to convince the media of anything. We should be trying to win so we can bring back a title to H-town.
Let me get this straight. 1. If you lose, you lose. 2. If you win, you lose. 3. If you win and win, you win. But how can you win and win without winning (losing) first? Oh boy, my mind is exploding.
IDK how taking a sht on an opposing team is consider a loss for the winning team. Im pretty sure when I watched Texans repeatedly get sht on by the Patriots in playoffs, i didn't feel like my Texans were the winner of that outcome.
