The Full Pound Guacamole-Bacon All-Angus 6 dollar burger at Carl's Jr will kick you in your ass. I used to eat one of those when I hadn't eaten anything all day. Good times.
Yup, its 100 degrees around Universal City, but since you're getting here later on... Im not sure about the quite a bit cool down. It was over 80 degrees after 9pm last night so just be comfortable. and if you do, make sure you tell them to make the burger "On the Char" Much jucier and tastes better. Check out a few in Pasadena. Especially downtown Pasadena. People hang out at night like its Vegas there , and the atmosphere is terrific. Oh and please stay away from the 405 freeway. Trust me on that one.
Even at 11:30 at night? I am going to have to drive there from the airport and the directions I have take me on the 405. Should I take a different route?
Just be prepared to move at about 2 miles per hour. also... people on the 405 don't **** around when there isn't traffic, 85-90 is the norm.
Sounds like my kind of driving! Thanks for the heads up. I am sitting at the airport now bored out of my skull.
yeah you should be fine at that time of night on the 405 but like moes said its a speed freeway at that time. and if you are going to go 405 to the 101 hopefully you get a car that is good for hills because after you pass the 10 freeway it goes up and down a few hills watch for cops. since you're going to north hollywood you're fine at that time of night...if the sun is up i would stay away from the 405 as much as possible
You should be okay that late, but during the day.. and tomorrow is the worst traffic day of the week. I promise it seems like the entire city is on that freeway on Thursday for some reason. For that type of reason people punch it not all but alot of people do when its open.
I'm in Orange County and it's really hot this week. I couldn't believe how hot it is, actually. 105 in Irvine today If I were going to LA, I'd go to Venice Beach, just to see it. Tourist trap, yes, but still somewhat entertaining. I much prefer Huntington Beach In and Out sucks. I have no idea why people like that place. Whataburger pwns it
I drove up Beverly Hills late one night. Between the big ass houses and the view of the beautiful lights of LA below, it was a very cool experience.
And... Tommy's Pink's Rick's for the Spuderito Fred 62 Those were some places to eat in LA that I liked a lot.
Santa Monica and West Hollywood. There is plenty of nightlife over there. I also recomment the Getty Museum during the day for something chic. Also, are you coming here alone. I am available saturday if you need some company.
I went to pinks, that was good and greasy! I wanted to check out that 8oz Burger Bar, but didn't get a chance to. I found out that Carl's Jr burger I ate was 800 calories..damn it was good!
I made it! Took me a little more than an hour to go from baggage claim to the hotel - a PT Cruiser doesn't do well on hills. FYI. I was able to stay at about 75 the whole time except on the hill. People were flying by me like I was standing still. The PT Cruiser also doesn't accelerate very quickly. I miss my manual Honda Civic! Thanks again for the tips everyone! And no I am not here alone, well, rephrase tonight.. I am alone but I have a bunch of friends flying into Burbank tomorrow. Now all I have to do is plan the weekend! I am definitely thinking that we will have to find time to head up to Malibu and the Getty Villa. And now I must crash.. it's been a long night. Yoyo I will call you probably sometime tomorrow to let you know what the plans are once my friends get here.
I would go to Venice at sunset to catch one of the drum circles, also, the steady stream of pedestrians would have slowed down by then...just don't go hanging around there too late, because it can be kind've a rough area at night... texxx I agree completely, Huntington ftw...dunno if it's worth the trip down though if she only has a long weekend. If she is going to venture into OC, Laguna would probably have more shops and the like to venture through along the beach...
Yeah PT Cruisers suck. I had one in May driving from Las Vegas to Lake Powell and it left a lot to be desired.
Hardees is gross though, and there aren't any in Texas either. The only Carls Jrs in Texas that I know of are at Love's Truck Stop in North and South Dallas.
