Not in terms of him having been found, but: Collierville police consider Lorenzen Wright disappearance as missing person case Collierville detectives worked through the weekend chasing tips about missing former basketball player Lorenzen Wright, but thus far the department is dealing with the disappearance only as a missing person case. Police Chief Larry Goodwin said authorities have “nothing significant to tell us otherwise.” Goodwin said that while the family has questions about foul play, the department has no such evidence at this point. “There’s been nothing reported to us to lead us to believe otherwise, other than the fact that he’s done this before, but not quite as long,” the chief said. Wright, a former University of Memphis and Grizzlies basketball player, was last seen July 19 at a Memphis barbershop, where he had his hair cut, said his sister, Adriane Harris. The family reported the disappearance of the 6-foot-11 power forward Thursday to Collierville police. The disappearance of the Memphis native follows several financial and personal setbacks, including a divorce and the foreclosures of two houses. Goodwin said that despite economic woes, there is nothing, such as a note, connected to the case. He said police have received some reports of sightings, but nothing that proved accurate. He said some were in different locations at the same time, leading to questions about the credibility of the calls. “Hopefully, with all the notoriety and information, somebody will call and give us a lead that proves helpful,” the police chief said. “....Collierville is going to do this in any missing person situation. We investigate these things.” Wright, a 13-year NBA veteran, most recently played for the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2009 before he fractured his thumb. He played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Atlanta Hawks and Grizzlies after being drafted No. 7 overall in 1996. http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2010/jul/26/collierville-police-consider-lorenzen-wright-disap/
I think someone close to him must know something, maybe a family member. This is just too weird, otherwise.
It doesn't hurt to be classy .. Everybody's trying to be funny its the new cool thing .. I rather be classy than get rep points .. PATHETIC .. Best wishes to L Wright and his family ..
Same here. With 6 pages you would think we would have a good update instead we have people arguing about if people should joke about this or not.
I made a joke earlier but I really hope he's okay. It can't be that hard to spot a near 7 foot former basketball player.
Just hope his children are able to overcome this. RIP Lorenzen, you will be missed. I always had a ton of trading cards of him when i was younger...
I think the fact that Ronny's always come off as a (borderline) racist moron contributed to the vitriol thrown his way.
