I was kidding. But it's usually the ones with a troubled past or history that have unfortunate circumstances like this brought upon them. Remember Sean Taylor? It sucks cause he was trying to stay out of trouble and change his life. Chris Henry? Same. None of those guys deserved what they got but there's a reason why you don't or rarely hear stories like this happen to Jerry Rice, Deke or Pete Sampras as an example.
Ask Stephen Jackson's wife how she's comfortable she's going to be at home or sleeping over the next few years. Just because someone didn't get killed doesn't mean that nothing happened to them. Internet de-sensitization.
You can also ask his wife if she's happy to be alive. There is still a big difference between getting robbed and dying. All the same though, people shouldnt make jokes out of these kinds of events.
cmon man...when someones health/life is in jeopardy, there should be a line that shouldnt be crossed. Its called maturity. If you really want to drag that out to mean that jokes should never be said, then by all means, go ahead and assume thats what I meant.
Relax! I don't think the jokes funny either, but you just need to calm down. So what if they're joking around. Your hating on them by saying their lives are nothing just because they don't make a million bucks. Wow! Who the hell do you think you are?
Then why did you agree with knote32 when he said that "there is a large difference between robbery and death" when we were comparing and contrasting this ordeal with the Stephen Jackson situation? If you and him weren't assuming that Wright was dead, it would be absolutely irrelevant to bring that up then.
Boo freakin hoo !!!!! Millions of people die all around the world every day, from starvation, disease, war. Don't they deserve their own thread too? Wouldn't you be better off concentrating on helping those people instead of arguing over a joke? But no, that poor little famous millionaire needs defending. Spoiler He probably died of AIDS
This thread is why we cant have nice things. Yes most of these jokes are in poor taste but then again if people want to be douchebags on the internet that's their prerogative. You either have people being huge jerks or people who are going on large crusades in the form of internet billboard text to condemn said people. Nothing anyone says here will have any relevance or impact on the search but I'd like to believe that we could all refrain from jokes about this and show a little class. But then again that's just me, if you want to make jokes about this then go right ahead.
It means the majority Clutchfans have no room to talk. Nobody here has even come close to gracing the NBA stage.
I thought I made it perfectly clear, "Until we find out where Lorenzen is, there is a difference, imo. It's like making jokes in the "NFL players lost at sea for 3 days" thread..."
I think there is a difference between death and robbery...but, there is definitely a chance that Lorenzen is dead. Im not assuming he is dead, but nobody knows. And thats why a joke about that is more tasteless than a joke about someone getting robbed. Again though, I wouldnt joke about either case because I dont entertain myself over other peoples misfortunes. Im also not going on any crusade or thinking Im a better person than anyone else...the only reason I got into this thread is because Ronny made a comment...and that guy is the epitome of a douche.
Well said. I'm not condemning anyone else for making these untimely jokes, but I just think its extremely immature and speaks a lot about someone's character, even if its just da internetz
I don't understand why it is totally cool to post jokes in poor taste, yet it causes uproar to call that post a classless, douche of a post. It's like we get the initial uproar of an unfunny, classless joke, And after that we get a secondary uproar of people mad that there was an uproar in the first place, and on, and on, and on...
