You can level to 50, but in order to do so you will run out of quests outside of the epic line quests, so you will either have to use skirmishes to level or grind enemies to gain XP. Doing so from level 20ish to 50 would not be a very fun task I assure you. I'm not trying to discourage you to play, trust me I want more players in this game, I love it. I'm just giving you guys a low down on what really will happen when you think "free" to play. Nothing is free, you know this. It's the give you a taste and attempt to get you hooked so you'll pay business model that "slangers" employ. Quests are the best way to level in pretty much any MMO, and you will run out of quests once you leave your starter areas for your respective races. Regarding the lag, yeah it was kind of bad on Saturday. Didn't notice any Sunday. Turbine updated hardware and added new servers for the F2P launch but seems as though they are still working out some of the kinks. Overall though, if history is any indication, you can expect very good uptime with only some lag coming in the very busiest of areas.
You can choose from random, alternating (1,2,3,1,2,3), or all loot goes to party leader for distribution (or hogging).
Thanks but I wanted to know was that are there lots of goodies in the game to discover? Or are the armor/weapons not that great? I guess I will find out soon as soon as I HDDerase my SSDs and do a clean install of Win 7.
you eventually get that stuff. i dont think im going to get this game again. only can level to 25 and you lose out on quests unless you pay? ehh lame. besides SC2 takes up most the time
Loot/Gear/Weaps/etc will not be all that great at low levels, as with any game of this type really. You can craft stuff that you can actually use, and your quest rewards are typically keepers. Around level 50 is where you'll start to gain access to Legendary items and weapons. As usual, end game is where the best stuff is. But you can start getting decent stuff around...20-30 for your character that actually have nice stats on it. Thing is, as you level you replace things fairly quickly. So yeah, around 50 towards the cap you replace things a bit slower.
Yeah, also read on PC Gamer that you can only get to level 22 before you run out of quests. That's kinda lame...
Did people (not you, unless you feel this way, haha) really expect that a game making money off of subs would go completely 100% free? They made the change to make more money, make no mistake about it. You can still play the game as it was before the F2P move, and sub you wouldn't know the difference. The "Freemium" approach is pretty nice though. Opens the game up to many more player types. Players can play and not worry about a subscription. They can pay for sections/things in the game they want for a certain amount and have them forever, and never pay another cent. They are effectively like the lifetime subscribers to the game.
Well, they did say "free". I guess I'm more bothered by the fact that they left this bit out on purpose. What I was expecting was, like many other free-to-play MMO's, revenues from microtransaction or vanity items. I'm really not opposed to paying, since I played WoW for... an extended period of time.
How can i beat Jagger Jack when i cant even find him? and why is there a freaking beast that is 3lvl higher than me kicking my ass everytime i try to find Jagger Jack????
It's been a long time since I've done those quests, but Jagger Jack is way in the back of one of the bandit camps right? Amongst all the wolves and stuff? The quest guide focus should direct you there. Which beast is killin you? There is a elite level beast out there I remember. You will want to avoid him for sure unless you are grouped up.
