The Rockets need more players in their regular rotation with a 2 in the front of their age. Sura, Wesley, Deke, Anderson, Barry, and Howard is too much. 30 something roleplayers are good when they are former stars (Howard, Deke) as they have significant skills to compensate for declining physical abilities but the rest have been role players or bit players their entire career.

    T Mac & Yao...wonderful foundation

Head, Swift, Alston....nice role players and all should be starting.

    Howard....good veteran off the bench.

Deke...still capable but on his last legs, should be playing 10 minutes at most.

The rest of the roster needs to be turned over for younger, athletic players and at this point it might take eating a bad contract on a youngster. I think the Rockets should look into getting Tim Thomas....low risk (expiring contract) especially if Chicago has interest in Juwan Howard.

The Rockets can get 1 younger swing player this season (SG/SF), 1 in the draft and 1 with their MLE and be ready to go by next season. They need to make a decision soon though on this season because T Mac is obviously stil hurting whether he is able to play or not and it might not be a bad idea to shut him down for the season and let him see a specialist, get a great draft pick and come back with a healthy T Mac next year. I guess it depends upon the Rockets record by January.

Also, T Mac is one of my favorite NBA players, so I don't enjoy the Rockets playing like this....

now normally I would continue to bash you after this loss , but since we won by 40 I'll be serious for a sec.

How is swift helping this team? The guy has a basketball IQ that resembles the great Kelvin Cato.

Athleticism can only take you so far and for Swift it hasn't gotten him very far at all other than an occasional highlight reel dunk

Everything in the article is true and we've been saying it for weeks. It's frustrating because looking at this team during the offseason I thought for sure we'd be contenders.

Our main problem is not just our age, but JVG's complete lack of offensive coaching ability. Our superstars have to settle for the hardest shots. I bet if we had Amare instead of Yao, Gundy would still be trying to make him a post player instead of using the pick and roll. We don't break defenses down at all and we don't move the ball. Remember this article? It had me the most excited about the team because I thought we were going to push things offensively. I thought there'd be movement without the ball. It turned out to be a load of crap.

"If Van Gundy has a demand, it is not that his team move cautiously through its offense, as has been his reputation. It is that the ball move rapidly."
Bullcrap. Everyone's been playing scared since the preseason. People are scared to shoot and even scared to pass.

"Where Hakeem Olajuwon and Charles Barkley were once backing it in, backing it in, backing it in, McGrady and Yao Ming must make an offensive move or the next pass."
Strange, it looks like Yao does nothing but back it down. And we spend a lot of time just trying to get it to him. Nothing's fast about our offense. JVG better make some changes soon.
