True, I had no problem with the guy before. But as of lately, especially in this thread all of his posts are just a repeated rant. And from the looks of it, I am not the only one who is tired of reading all his crap. I am not a SOF, and if his ranting was towards any other player I would stick up for them too (if they are a Rocket). It just got too old for me (his posts, not him). I wonder how old he really is...he acts 13. In Francis case, he did a great job in the last game. He completely played in control and as a team leader. The only problem was there was no team monday night. A team leader can only do so much, he needs his teamates to step up and do their part. Kobe had a fantastic night, but he didn't do it alone. Rush and Malone and countless others stepped up when they were needed. I am hoping the rest of the Rockets can do the same.
I agree with most of you here. Steve Francis did a fantastic job, he did everything we've all asked of him. It absolute bullsh!t that he cops the blame for the loss in game 2. It just infuriates me because it just goes to show, it doesnt matter what he does, some people will never be happy until he is gone. Its a team game and he can only do so much. Give the man a break!
Its just ironic how ppl talk about Francis should let Yao lead the team and all..... When obviously in this series Yao is the one who seems to fade away but Francis stepped up big time to try to win and yet still gets all the blame and when those SOF used Yao, the Steve haters or YOF will then say it is only Yao's second season, he is still learning..... What else Francis need to do to gain some respects from them?
For the Kobe smiling ball, I believe Rox teammates just want to not block the paint and leave it to Steve. It did not work because Walton moved to cover Kobe. I don't want to blame Steve. Laker did the smart thing, they know Steve's mid-range jumper sucks. If Walton did not move to help, Steve will try to drive in. Sometimes his drive just works.
you have to imagine if you were a lakers fan, kobe would definitely drive you crazy when he ignores shaq in the post and does his own thing--which is, if he's not launching jump shots after jump shots, he's driving into the crowd and throwing up a crazy shot a la SF3. the difference is that kobe makes you happy more often than sf3 does by making those shots, AND 1. you still hate him sometimes if you were a lakers fan, but he's almost forgiven right away, for his scores, clutchness, and the rings he brings. yeah, that's the type of MAX player the organization envisioned sf3 would be two years ago when they gave him the fat contract. too bad it didn't work out quite as they or we'd have liked. life is unfair if you're hyped and making so much $$$. guess sf3 will have to live with this. yes he played resonably well and a triple double is nice (on a side note kidd does that almost on any given night, yet he still got criticized sometimes. yeah some fans are just spoiled--i think we would build a temple for kidd to worship him if he plays for the rox. ), but the team lost. and the few mistakes he made in the second half were magnified by replay (and a marker) and really made him look bad. believe me, you just need a couple of those to ruin an almost "flawless" game. bottom line: he has not done enough to clean his "bonehead" image. sorry dude. it'll take much more than a triple double.
how bout doin tthat in every game of this series? withthe exception of the first quarter and a half of gm1...he has played the way everyoine has been whining about....he has stepped up in the playoffs.....if he does not let off during this series....will that be enough to get him a little props from you guys? btw...a couple of mistakes does not ruin a great effort....if you think so, it is because you want a reason to hate. any reasonable fan will at least acknowledge his great play so far.
When have I ever supported Steve? You know what....we'll just watch him in Game 3 and Game 4 and see how he does. I have never supported the guy.... And for Uprising and the others, it doesn't matter what you say. I stand by my posts. As I have said earlier in this thread, we will see how SF plays in Game 3 and Game 4.
The problem here is that when Kobe came into the league, Shaq was already an established post player AND was the primary option on the team. He didn't have to go from being the man to being a second option like Steve has. For his adjustment, Steve is doing a damn fine job.
I hope the same fans that are complaining about francis play in these 2 games which ve looked better then anybody else on te team or gonna be at the game friday at toyta center making alot of damn noise and not just eating popcorn in a suite and tie complaing.we have some good fans in this city ,but way more sucky ones.little cupcake a_s punks and iam getting tired of reading this bs everyday specialy when steve has a good game.for christ sake the man just had a tripple double bust his but out there and played the best basketball ive seen out of a rocket this year in the post season.and you sorry bast_rds want to single out 1 or 2 plays when we lost but 16 points.yao is 7 foot 6 and shaq wasn' in the game most of the time why no one is compling about him not getting 16 or 17 rebounds and playing some 7 foot 6 deffens.I always see these dumb post that say stevie is a cancer. can some of you dummies stop hating for a while and try to support the man and the rest of the team.
I don't understand why many here including Jeff and JuanValdez keep saying that Steve has been our "best player" in the last two games. He has (with an eye on perpective) by far the easiest assignment with a favorable matchup situation from him - indeed I expected him to rize above par in this series. His greatest asset in his athletic ability and he is willfully and gainfully using it but he is still not an outstanding defender or offender. IMO there is nothing to support any player's nomination for "best player" honors because none indeed have achieved it. Steve have contributed a commendable input but without mincing words nothing really to write home or go 'gaga' about. The team as a whole has been poor but hey it is the Lakers and I will concede that. It really does not anger me because I accept that we are inferior to those guys - I am just hoping that we will avoid embarrasement. I am trying hard to give Mobley or Jackson the "commendable" honor but they fell short late. This team is still in quandry as far as meching and the future of its personel cohesion is concerned.
Francis had an amazing game; it is hard to understand how he doesn't get some respite, at least until Friday. give the mana break. you get to watch him play with his heart on his sleeve, win or lose.
you do realise that he is playing against one of the best defensive point gurads in recent years don't you???? Payton may be old, and maybe not as much of an offensive threat as SF3, but damn, to say he has an easy assignment.........damn
Common.....you and I know that Payton is no more "the glove" just like MJ is no more "invinsible". Anyway, all I want from this experience is to become a step closer to realizing our championship dreams and to move up an echelon.
Dumb article, from a guy with a history of dumb articles (and the occasional good one). Steve has been trying to remake himself into more of a team player, and has had his most success to date in the last couple weeks. I hope the other players can step up and get us back in this series with a couple home wins.
No, the easiest assignment would be whoever plays small forward, be it Jimmy, Boki, etc. There are 4 HOF on the court, so by deafult the easiest should be the non-HOF, correct?
