Marquez had the fight evenly score going into the 12th rd but he didn't do anything to win the judges over. Instead the aggressive fighter through out the match pacquaio left the last impression for the judges to decide. Jmm got some quality counter punches in but in america people go with quantity over quality. In his case those quality punches didn't knock him out and as an underdog you need a KO against the champ. That and him getting out punch and power punch didn't help his case going into decision.

I don't have time right now to break every round down, but I scored it 115-113 for Marquez. 7 rounds to 5.

Give credit to Marquez. He's the best in the counterpunching business.

of course it is not. otherwise who needs judges. just like in any other sports, stats help to understand what happened to the game and support judges score.

If Manny landed A LOT more clean punches, Juan would have tasted canvas.

Marquez had ring control by controling how the fight went. There are many Pac fans saying Manny has slipped because he didn't look like he normally does. But the truth is he hasn't slipped at all, he was controled by Marquez.

Again, punch stats are irrelevent. Manny landed 17 more power shots, that total alone could have come in one single round he won.

Also, Compubox "officials" are about 50 rows back, not front and center like many would believe.

If people are swayed, I think it was more about how Marquez made Manny look. That shocked a lot of people and has some Pac fans saying he has slipped.

I had Manny winning the first fight, a draw in the 2nd. This fight was Marquez's and I was wrong in my prediction pre fight.

Scoring on press row ran the gamut. Draw. Marquez by a couple. Marquez by a few. Very few people I talked to scored it for @MannyPacquiao

Fightnews's poll has only 34% voting for Manny winning. I haven't found a poll that does.

    Manny loses badly to Floyd.

Stats by Compubox officials 50 rows back, I'd rather count them myself on HD, will I? Nope.:)

I think Marquez would give mkr problems to Manny than Floyd would because JMm lets his hands go. Floyd will throw one or two punches at a time and pop shot him all night. Judges would probably give Manny rounds because he's more active.

That would be stupid to put them 50 rows behind unless they are provided with HD too.

Nways, here's a picture I got from google.

You have nothing to back that claim and Manny did land a lot more shots.

    Marquez wasn't even initiating exchanges.

    True but was it, though?

My scorecard is the same as Howard Lederman's... I have it 8 rds to 4 in favor of Pac...

    Pac- 1,3,4,6,9,10,11,12
    Marquez- 2,5,7,8

The gash in Pac's eye was from the headbutt received by Marquez and when you look and compare the two faces, it looks like Marquez ate a Filipino Pork Binagoongan served by Pacman...
This fight was almost the exact same last two fights they had...

If counter-punching and being stationary than a motherfocker is schooling then I guess so...

It seems as if a lot of people don't understand this logic.

The clean, effective punching is what all of the pacman nuthuggers miss. They seem to think that that stat only matters when the effective punch knocks the other guy down. Otherwise, they seem to think that compubox can tell you who won the fight, lol.

Then they point to harold lederman. The guy nut hugs the favorite in every fight.

    Relax.

I had Marquez winning, but it wasn't a 'robbery,' IMO.

    Close fight.

What is it with you and the word, "nuthuggers?" haha

Im not saying Manny dominated, but I will say Marquez was as clear a winner Manny was. Meaning, that fight was close. Marquez didnt dominate either. So i don't see how manny nut breakers (eh, eh?) can say Marquez was the clear cut winner.
