If u go to Spain be sure to visite the Basque country on both sides of the frontier. The place is great and with a lot of cultural sites. Another place to visite, this time in France,is the Aquitain Region.I don't know if u have ever visited Paris, but Bordeaux has been voted the best place to visite by US tourists. If u need advise for places to visite in France don't hesistate to ask! ALA
a la, looks like Paris is on the agenda, if i only had 2 days give me a list of the best things to see, will also need a reccommendation of cheapish place to stay for a 1-2 nights. Smeg
Smeggy, there are some very good deals for RTW tickets from Australia. I think there is a special Star Alliance "lite" fare that is dirt cheap. I'm going to try and look it up for you.
Smeggy, have a look at this thread, http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum82/HTML/001539.html - if you don't understand the somewhat "special" lingo, please feel free to ask me. Couldn't find the mentioned fare of OZ$ 1599 on their website, though. Maybe if you call them. But the one for 2789 or so might be less restrictive anyway, you should be able to fit your intra-European flights in there somehow as well... http://www3.travel.com.au/everest/i...S&SITEREGION=eur&PARTNERID=tvl&S=FNVAODPCTGAT Good luck with the trip planning.
SJC, the one i have been quoted by the travel agent so far, is the Qantas/One World Global explorer fare http://www.qantas.com.au/regions/dyn/au/specials/oneworldExplorer should be about $3000 aussie dollars (including taxes) my sister emailed me today, looks like some time in spain apart from the conference (maybe madrid or barcelona) maybe Paris and sometime in the south of Ireland near Wexford and then London is on the cards, plus i really want to knock off another thing on my sporting wish list either a Aston Villa or Celtic game.
My cousin has been in Spain for a few years now and she says it rocks. Of course I have only talked to her once in the past 2 years so I really didnt get any more insider information other than it "rocks". Have fun and good luck on the presentation. If anyone asks if you are from England, give them a sock in the nose.....
