yeah you should definately go to the doctor as a precaution. my cousin got in a really bad accident and he thought he was okay. he thought he just had a couple of bruises, but when he went to the doctor, they found some internal bleeding. it couldve been bad if he didnt get it checked out right away...

Glad you and your sis are alright, Oski. I hope the doc determines that any injuries your sister sustained are minor.

I was in a bad accident similar to arkoe's a few years ago. The car was totaled, but I also walked away without a scratch (although it certainly helped that I buckled up). I learned a few months later that a high school friend had gotten in a car accident the same weekend, but he didn't survive. Kind of makes you wonder sometimes.

Life is a gift. Every day, I take it for granted, but it's true.

A few years ago, I was at a red light, about 10 cars back from the intersection. I look up in my mirror and see this Ford dually not slowing down. I tried to get out of the way but got nailed in the back. The impact was so hard, it buckled the bed of my truck and pushed it up into the cab. The corner of the bed just missed my back by inches.

All I could think about when I got out of the car was that I was going to kick someone's ass. The driver gets out of the truck and it was literally a 4'10" lesbian chick. Her partner aparantly closed her hand in the glove box and the idiot looked to see what happened. She came up to me and asked if I was all right. I screamed "WHAT THE F*** ARE YOU DOING DRIVING THAT TRUCK?! ARE YOU SOME KIND OF F***** IDIOT? GET THE F*** OUT OF MY FACE BEFORE I DECK YOU!" All I could think was how does some 4'6" chick drive a Ford dually?

I was ok, but for some soreness. I was more pissed because I had just paid that truck off 1 month before. I got a new car out of it.

Oski...hope all is well. Get some Advil because you'll need it in the morning. Good luck with it all.

I'm so glad you guys are ok! That must have been terrifying. :(

It's sickening how other peoples' irresponsibility causes trauma in the lives of the innocent. I always rolled my eyes when my parents always warned me to be careful on the road, but I totally understand now. I'm always scared that one of my loved ones will be hit by an idiot driver or even worse an idiot drunk driver.

It makes me very relieved that you didn't seem to be injured too bad, but just as everyone else is saying, definitely get it checked out at the doctor. You want to take every precaution.

I'm glad you guys alright. That has to be a very strange feeling to be in the middle of that, and then see all the damage after it is done.

It is. Mine was similar to Oski's, and a host of cars stopped, thinking there were serious injuries. Not only that, but my daughter, a toddler at the time, was in the third seat, strapped in like an asronaut, thank god. She had a red line on her neck from the strap... the impact was unbelievable. It puts you in a state of shock. It was like a stick of dynamite had gone off in the front of my Honda van. A 60+ year old guy was going about 55-60 when he hit us. He actually sped up to "make the light." He told me that himself, while we were waiting for the cops. If I hadn't been so stunned by what happened, I swear I would have kicked his ass from here to Sunday. "I was in a hurry to get to Target, and I thought I could make the light." Dumb b*stard.
