    1. Yes, Sac gets out of the contract. As the article linked in the OP indicates, Sac has no plans for Hayes. New coach Mike Malone talked about every player on the roster except he didnt mention Chuck even once.

    2. Gibson is basically the PF version of Asik. Excellent defender, smaller size, better shooting. Excellent player. Mirotic is one of the very best Euros in Europe.

    3. Asik fits better next to Noah now than he did before. They can play together since Noah has learned to shoot the midrange J better and is an excellent high post passer so they don't run into each other as much as Howard and Asik likely will.

    Asik is likely to get more minutes with Noah than he does with Dwight.

    With Asik and Howard we have one of the best defenses in the NBA along with one of the best offenses. Why break that up?

    Not even close. Asik is a proven top defensive Center. He alone made the Rockets a top 10 defense just by stepping on the floor. And he was in the 1st year as a starter. This next year when Howard is resting and Asik can come in and keep the team a top defense would be awesome. The only way that there could be an improvement by trading Asik is if we could get an elite defender like a Josh Smith or Duncan.

    Now you think Chuck and Gibson is fair value? :eek:

    How can you guys not miss the Chuckwagon? I wouldn't mind him being brought in to be a situational defender, guarding the Zach Randolphs and Al Jeffersons in this league.

    Funny how back in the day we were already punking Golden State.

    I agree that he would be an defensive asset but not at losing Asik. If he could buy out his contract and come to us at vet minimum then we are stronger. He mentoring TJones and Smith and DMo and coming in for defense would be nice.

    It make sense to get Hayes back if Asik is gone. Asik is basically a bigger Chuck Hayes.
