To get OP's config on a Mac, it'll run up to $3000. That's not worth the money.

I standby my previous statement about waiting to get Windows 7. You can even wait until Dell has some online coupons out. Blu-ray is probably not worth it unless you are connecting it to a big flat-screen TV.

You can go to your local Fry's with the configuration you have, and you can probably get assisted to build your own computer for a lot cheaper. But yeah, for a Dell, if you want the very best without all the hassle, then it's an ok deal.

If your paying that much money for a PC, you might as well buy an Alienware one which really be the top of the line parts rather than Dell.

check out the dell outlet. I got a refurb laptop there. they usually have good deals on desktops.

 

Thats the biggest ripoff ive ever heard of. If you're in Houston, try going to Best Computers USA off Kirkwood and I-10. Thats where i JUST bought my new PC and theyll work with you to design a machine thats significantly cheaper and much better. Trust me, dont buy from Dell.

Forgot the CPU. I would say screw the bluray and get a $25 DVDrom and just buy a bluray player or Playstation 3 or wait for the bluray to drop. I would say the most important thing would be Video Card and CPU. Also buy a motheboard that you can upgrade stuff onto.

Just watch Dell. I ordered a desktop in February that they kept delaying for a month and a half. I finally cancelled the order because they wouldn't tell me when I could expect it.
