I think so.... For his contract and what he brings... He would give Harden a rest yet offers better size than Lin with the hustle and skill set to elevate the Rockets. Lebron will stay with Miami, so there's really no point in going after him in the off season because he's winning championships and Miami will have their own cap space to fill in for either a departed Bosh or Wade... Lee was amazing with the Grizzlies and single handily was the main component to sabotage any type advantage the Rox had over the Grizzlies even moreso with the return of Mark Gasol. Although if we had Asik to counter Gasol things might have been different.
Do not underestimate his value. The Courtney Lees' of the world are not easy to find. He is a two way player, a rich man's Cisco Garcia. And that's the healthy Garcia that finished the season last year and not the one we have now. Imagine having someone like that to back up Parsons and Harden. Someone to fill the role of tough defender and 3 point shooter who could easily fit into a small ball lineup with Parsons sliding to the 4. IMO he's exactly the missing piece on this roster. That guy who could help get us by OKC. Who maybe guard Durant like Garcia did last year. That's the only kind of player I would realistically trying to get in trade before the deadline. I say realistically because Love and Aldridge ain't walking through our doors. All this talk of Rondo is a joke. He is a terrible fit on offense for this team. Makes it easier to double off of him and guard Dwight. Worse player to get for this team. Nope don't need him just need someone like Lee. Trevor Ariza's close but the Wizards are on a run and aren't about to trade. Martell Webster another one but ditto. Dunleavy's a distant second to Courtney Lee. Guess we'll have to hope Garcia gets some energy and comes back to form. But Courtney Lees' are hard to come by make no mistake about it. They are solid role players that contribute to championships just like young Shane Battier's do.
Before the season I predicted around 55 wins for us. We'd have to go 22-10 to end the year to reach that goal. Very doable.
Yes, that deal that would send Asik to Boston for Lee/Bass was the best the Rockets could have ever hoped for overall. Lee is that piece that would have elevated this team to championship contender. The pesky hard nosed wing defender that was good friends with Dwight Howard on their championship run in 2009. What a mistake for the delusional Morey. Shame.. shame... shame...
I wouldn't go that far. Omer Asiks' are hard to come by as well. I think Morey wanted more and that doesn't make him delusional. Asik could be a very valuable piece as well. I was thinking more on the lines of getting Lee without giving up Asik. We need to pick up a player like Lee this off season. And my point is those guys aren't easy to find.
