No love for the Beastie Boys outside of myself?? I read somewhere that even Chuck D admitted that the Beasties had the sickest beats of anybody in music at the time that "Paul's Boutique" was out.

Depends on how young the listener is! In a few years, Dr. Dre's "The Chronic" will be 20 years old. It's weird to realize there are a generation of teenagers that have probably never listened to that album in its entirety.

If you think for a moment you can consider everything pre 2000 old school if you're new to culture. I suppose Kanye and Lil'Wayne (ugh) will be considered old school in 20-25 years.
