Yeah, I'd definitely suggest trying Mass Effect. It is a bit short for a RPG, even while doing a bunch of the extremely-repetitive sidequests (took me about 30 hours to do the main quest and probably most of the sidequests IIRC). Besides that and a few minor issues (EX: horrible inventory management), it is pretty awesome IMO. I thought I did a review in the Review thread, but I guess I forgot too. If you like Strategy RPGs, I've been having a lot of fun with Disgaea 3 lately. Great sense of humor and a gameplay system that offers a lot of depth. Aalthough it seems as though the franchise hasn't quite evolved as much as I would have expected...but it did get a lot of things right to begin with. It is probably a little too niche and extreme in some ways, but it can be a lot of fun IMO. And if you buy it and end up not liking it, I'll be happy since it means more Nippon Ichi games will make it to the US (or just be made period). I won't be getting much into older releases since I could possibly end up listing dozens of games, if not more. I will say that if you haven't checked it out, you might want to try MLB 08 The Show instead of MLB 2K8. And of course, you should have plenty of new games to pick from starting pretty soon.

That's a great game, but gets pretty damn hard. And something I didn't know, they actually made an animated series from the game.
Yeah, I've played most the games (along with this one) that have been posted on here. I will check out Mass Effect, but Viewtiful Joe for $5 can't be beat especially when I found my PS2 in my closet while staying with my rents who have power.
