No. We didn't have a bench and Yao lost a step recovering from injury. Even if Rockets beat Warriors, they'd lose to Spurs.

Spurs is a different animal in playoffs.

Watch the final 7 minutes (when the Rockets were up by 8) of that game and it's clear how many (no) calls went in favor of the Jazz.

You complain about officiating over 15 years ago, so I think you should try to find the video and see what actually happened. Many Rockets fans became frustrated when the Rockets never got a shot off in the last minute of the game, so the bad officiating was forgotten.

I can't find the video anymore on Youtube.

Do you think the road to the finals was going to be tougher back in 2005?

In my opinion, 2007 would have been much easier..

Fact is the Rockets could have had 2 championships this decade to make up for the two other ones they should have from the previous decade. Oh well, time to look forward.

Yes you can complain about officiating any time, but that's not the reason why we lost that series.

you know how many times we scored 100 points in that series?
    ZERO.

you know how many points we scored in game 3?
    67.

Yeah.. that was the refs fault. yeah.

If you can't figure out why we lost that game, and that it wasnt

    1.the refs
    2. the jazz

then you didn't watch the series.

you know what happened right after that series right?

    JVG got the ax.

blame that on the refs too.

why are you so fascinated about 2007?
we couldn't win a freaking game on the road.
we couldn't even score 100 points in a game!
we couldn't even win a game 7 at home.

road to the finals? 2007 was more like crosswalk to fishing pier.

Pretty much. Too much complaining on this site about the refs. The rockets had chances and couldn't close the door. They choked and to be fair, utah had more talent and better players.

Can't blame it all on the refs. We lost by 40 in game 7.

    Z,

A subset of the 'newer' fans feels that the Rockets are ENTITLED to glory and praise. Us older "hakeem olajuwon" era fans, knows that glory and praise are EARNED. The Rockets got screwed by the refs back then, but that didn't stop them from bringing glory to Houston.

Too much faith in JVG's defense and the talents of Tmac and McGrady were the downfall of the Rockets.

blame it on our role players if you want, but our best players were clearly overrated.

Boozer and Okur? Good grief. Olajuwon had Dennis Rodman and David Robinson on him, Shaq and Grant, Mason and Ewing, the entire Phoenix Suns bench and front line..

Wait the same Utah team that got beat by the Spurs 4-1?
    A Robert Horry playoff team?

    No.

Pretty much. Newer guys on this board don't realize the best team always win in 7 games. This isn't the ncaa or the superbowl.I haven't felt any yao/mcgrady team was championship worthy. Its hard having 2 beta's trying to lead. I just feel this team is headed into being just another 50 win team for the next few years.

This thread is as useless as one if those "man, I miss Carl Landry" threads.
Hey, it's the off season. I'll take what I can get!
