Looking back in hindsight, what would you have done after 9/11?

    If by after 9/11 you mean the months or up to a year after the attack, then I have no problems with the US reaction. It was a very uncertain time. And I don't think, given what was going on then, there was an overreaction.

    If you mean was it OK to drag it out for as long as they did, escalating the fears, making no attempt for reconciliation, the manner and timing of the iraq invasion and the inability or unwillingness to manage and end it once there, the building of bureaucratic empires with little regard for effectiveness, practicality or civil liberties, the political manipulation of the conflict for partisan gain -- then, no...all that has been abhorrent.

    Can't answer your poll, I'm afraid. It's worded as though immediately after, in which case I'd have to select 'exact same thing.' But on the whole, after the initial reaction, I think the situation has been handled and manipulated in an embarrassingly inhumane way.

    (and "looking back ""in hindsight" is redundant -- because I know everyone loves the grammar police...).
