I wouldn't say his trade value was that low, he just had an amazing amount of leverage and the willingness to use it. If he doesn't say that he's only signing an extension with Houston then I don't think Steve/Cat/Cato would have cut it. Those other teams would have increased their offer. Actually, I think he actually said it best when he stated, "You know it's a terrible trade when the GM involved starts getting death threats and everyone has the same reaction: 'Well, it was bound to happen.'"
Ok, let's not carried away too far, Tmac forced to be traded. We were one of 3 teams that were willing to give up values for Tmac. We eventually beat out Suns for they wouldnt give up Joe Johnson. Now that was a stupid move for the Suns. Imagine Tmac, Nash and Amare play together, that's instant NBA titile nobody can stop them from scoring. Of course Tmac wanted to part with Yao because Yao made Olando his b**** previous years.
