I agree i find myself amazed with some of the things he does, i mean i know he does make mistakes but thats normal for his development. He will get better, and those will decrease, but man hes been making better and better desicions out there... good to see

be sure to sign lowry first. if he sees that brooks is locked in for another 5 years he might think twice about resigning...

I wonder what Kyle will do? IMO, the smart thing for him would be to sign a one year tender making him an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year.

I think Bima said it best. The main reason is the new CBA coming up; good chance we'll be able to get him cheaper after next season, especially as an RFA.

I'd only consider extending him sooner if we got a heck of a discount.

I know i'll get killed for saying this but I am a "trade high" kind of guy so I would look to move him this summer. Don't get me wrong I love the little guy and he has been dynamite but at his salary along with production he could be the key to acquiring an superstar.

That would be the worse thing we could think of.

How many sell high are we going to do before our team contends? Next year is our best chance to acquire a possible max player. Trading away Brooks would be foolish to say the least.

I'm with rockets934life on this one.

No Rudy Gay was a ? a bad example because we sold Low.

AB is great but "If" someone offered an Established star you would be foolish not to think about it.

Next year will see AB's numbers drop just because Yao will be back.

All I'm saying is that It would be ok to see what the market would be for AB. I wouldn't trade him unless it's for a proven stud or Ricky Rubio

Not saying trade away the guy for dirt, if someone came to the team with a Superstar and wanted Brooks or if Morey went after a Superstar and they wanted Brooks I'd be open to the idea. Brooks has been great but also has his limitations and if he was himself a Superstar then the question about extending or not wouldn't be an issue.

Whatever happens, I think people here need to remember how much they craved a good point guard just a couple of seasons ago... and how many seasons before that, that people here were crying in frustration for one. PG and Center are 2 of the harder positions to fill with above average talent. Brooks is definitely above average. Hubie Brown gave him glowing remarks last night as well as Deron Williams giving him kudos after the game... as well as Greg Popovich... as well as Phil Jackson... as well as ... oh well, you get the picture. He may not be ideal, but I don't think I'd trade for him for another position.

ricky rubio is not a proven stud. and the truth is that other teams will not trade away kobe, lebron, wade, melo, durant etc. for a point guard. (i would trade for one of those in a heart beat) but for another point guard. hell no!

    CP3?
    Collison?
    Al Jefferson?

Those are superstars. But Allstars could be had.

    Next year with Yao.

No one knows what Brooks numbers will do? He might get MORE wide open 3pt looks.

His scoring might go up, it might go down with his assists going up.

    It might stay the same.

Who knows....that is the fun of it...finding out...enjoy the journey.

Wouldn't move Brooks for Rubio but if Rubio is acquired for 11-12 then I'd look to move AB down the road but that's to far ahead anyway. REEKO said it best, you have options this offseason. Paul or Collison, one of those guys has to go and Jefferson will be wearing a different jersey next season. I'd throw in Granger as another guy that could be moved for the right price. Lots of option will be available this offseason so always have to be ready.

For me I do not trade Brooks for a pick or a vet player, but I do not extend him either. I would work the deals with Scola and Lowry first, see how much we have to spend, then take Brooks later.

The "worse thing"??? The WORST thing, even???

Dude was talking about trading Brooks for a freakin' SUPERSTAR, and you're calling that the WORST thing the Rockets could do???

Let's say that Bryan Colangelo called Daryl Morey on July 7 and said, "We've talked it over with Chris. He'd like to come to Houston and is ready to sign a long-term deal with us in a sign-and-trade to Houston. What we want in return is Aaron Brooks, Shane Battier and Jared Jeffries."

Are you telling me that Daryl making that deal and having Bosh in a Rockets jersey would be the WORST thing for the organization?

I'll tell you the worst thing for the Rockets. It would be Morey taking longer than two seconds to say, "Yes!" to that deal.
