The same people with hundreds of "FRIENDS" on Facebook with no social skills are the ones who love these online things, including chatrooms, instagram, and online dating. That's all they know... they do not know how to interact with a person face to face. I mostly do the Clutchfan thing at work... I mean, NOT while working, but at work to pass the time. When it's family time, and when it's SOCIAL time with friends, F the online crap. I have recently pledged not to be distracted while driving, but it's much more than just quitting texting and Facebooking. Teenagers love this as an "acceptance thing", so they think that it translates to REAL friends, when it doesn't. I have teenage kids... I'll be darned if I won't let them know about this. Enjoy life, my peeps. Isn't that a cowardly way of ignoring them?
I don't do it directly, it has to be a smoothe transition. Like if I was in a group of friends and people were talking, and if I knew I didn't want to be bothered by anyone, I would just get on my phone. If that makes sense? If someone started a convo with me, I would never blatantly straight out get on my phone and ignore them... lol that's rude.
I believe at any time you aren't petitioned or called on by something on the phone, it's rude, regardless. I mean, there are so many times you might get text'd or notified by something else... and you shouldn't answer those. BUT... if you get a phone call and the caller ID says "MOM", I might let you slide. There's an APP for that... it's called "Fake Call"... you know.
