I wish many, many infections of swine flu on anyone who use the "Houston, we have a problem" line. Gonorrhea too.
Game 6 IS our game 7. There's no way we win game 7 in Portland. This is basically a buy 1 get 1 free for Portland. The monkey is holding on tighter after last nights loss. The place needs to be rockin like it was THE SUMMIT circa 94-95.
Bwhahaha!!! "We gotcha right where we want you Houston!!! We only have to beat you twice more in a row with the next game being in Houston!!! Houston, you have a problem!!!" This is so pathetic it doesn't even bother me. It's just funny. Bring it on Portland!!! You can't even hold serve on your own home court so we welcome you back to the Toyota Center where you are 0 for your last umpteenth tries.
BS. The pressure is on Portland. Not Houston. They have to win on the road against a team they haven't beat on the road in a very long time.......and then STILL win again at their house where we have beat them badly, and played them well in our losses. People here like to panic and create a ton of worry, especially when it's not warranted. There is no way Portland wins this game tomorrow. NONE.
I don't really agree with this and I'll tell you why - Game 1. Nobody except the fans here (and even some of them like me weren't completely convinced) thought we would win that game. And not only did we win it, but we won it going away! Now granted there have been many adjustments that have been made on both sides, but still we shouldn't be acting like having to play a game 7 in Portland is a fate worser than death. And I refuse to believe that a team that is up 3-2 with the next game on their HOME COURT where they have been 13-1 against this opponent is the unfavorable situation compared to being down 3-2 and having to win 2 out of 2 games with the first game being in a building that you are 1-13. I mean let's get some perspective, here - geez.
Exactly. This team is full of players who have shown they can become heroes and game winners. We have too many weapons for Portland and you can be damn sure this team will come out hungry and mad for game 6. No more "it's on me" and then no-showing in crunch time. No more Luther Head going 0-99 from the field. No more lack of athleticism. Just a group of professionals who show up to win.
The point of having homecourt advantage is so your role players can actually unleash themselves. From what I see, our role players were horrible last night. Luis Scola and Yao Ming were the only players that came out to play last night. We saw what our role players did in Game 3 and 4 and they did a hell of a job especially in that 4th quarter in Game 4. No need to panic, but if we do lose Game 6, then there's a very slim chance we will be seeing the Lakers after Game 7.
tomorrow will be our game 7...we have to win this..we dont want to go back to portland...i have faith we will do it tho
Exactly. This isn't the team from 2005 & 2007. People keep bringing that up like it is. Here is a fact, Portland has yet to beat us at home this season. That is why we should be confident.
I've got faith but I'd be lying if I were to say I wasn't worried. I hope you guys are right. Game 6 is absolutely huge though and I hope you guys are gonna be there if your're in Houston.
The more I read this article the more it reminds me of the kid who is about to get his a$$ kicked so he starts talking about how he is a black belt in taekwondo but in the end he just catches a beating and is laughed at while he walks home bloody and crying.
That was a major piece of wishful thinking, if I've ever read any before. Portland has the Rocket's right where they want them? Are you kidding me? I had hoped we would close them out in game 5, but I was giving the Rockets about a 25% chance of winning that game. Portland was the team that should have won it and they did. Still the Rockets were awful and the game was in doubt in the 4th quarter. This article might make more sense if the Rockets actually DO lose game 6. Otherwise, it is a homer piece to the 10th degree.
It’s the general consensus on the board that the rockets played, to put it nicely, poorly during last nights game. From the outcome and the margins of the last two games I think that the sane amongst us knew that this game would probably fall to the Trailblazers. Face it that charging call the other night that Hayes got isn’t going to get called in Portland. Hopefully the team sits down looks at the tape and sees just how many times Yao was trying to direct his team mates to open passing lanes which would have gotten him the ball. I don’t care if Brookes jacks up shots, but he has got to do it without hesitation. He clearly did not have a good game last night. Lets do it in 6, no one wants to go back to Portland for game 7.
Sadly, I live in middle TN so I won't be able to be there in person but I wish I could. Just remember - 13-1 is what the Rockets record against Portland is all-time at the Toyota Center and the one time Portland won, Yao and McGrady did not play and we were starting Juwan Howard, Deke, Luther Head, and Rafer Alston and they still only won by like 7 or 8.
One more thing...this writer writes as if the Rockets are actually fear close out games at home. This is exactly where the Rockets want to be! It is up to them close the deal to be sure, but it is set up nicely for them.
