The Rockets FO did not waive Lin because they thought he sucked. They waived him because there were already 3 guaranteed contracts of some dudes and Johnny Flynn, and Lin was waived because they needed to make space to add Dalembert.

I think the reason Lin was waived near Christmas was because the front office did everything they could to keep him, but can't due to circumstances. So, no, neither McHale nor Morey had anything against Lin as a player. Many people here thought Lin could play even before Linsanity happened. They knew he was good but not Knicks' level of good.
This was a while ago and I wasn't on CF much back then, so a couple details might have been wrong but that was the general gist of it.

There are Parker, Westbrook, Paul and Curry whom all are significantly better then Lin and i doubt lin will be as good as them consistently. Then you have Conley, Lillard and Lawson not to mention Holiday and Calderon.

    I never said he did.

True and I know that. It wasn't impossible to keep him though. Maybe tough but not that hard.

    No, it was difficult.

It's been explicitly explained a million times already why the Rockets could not keep him, even though they wanted to keep him.

To what lengths did you want the Rox to go to keep a 4th PG?

    Give it up.

Let's see what lenghts the Rox to go to keep Brooks, he's our 4th PG.

They didn't have to rank him fourth. Ranking isn't that important anyways. If Morey knew he was Linsanity good, he definitely wouldn't throw away such a valuable asset to go after something ethereal.

I would say Canaan is the 4th PG at this point.

Another problem is that the Warriors underrated him and so did the Knicks who almost waived him.

If none of the Rockets' decision makers underrated him, they didn't have to be apologetic about it.

It is extremely rare for a player of Linsanity caliber to be waived. If such players are accurately evaluated, the teams would be able to keep them regardless of the difficulties almost every time.

The allstar game has 2 guard positions, not PG and SG. Lin is competing against all guards, not just point guards.

I'm not a Lin hater, but I am a fan of Lin and it's boggles my mind how ridiculous this talk of Lin as an all star is. Let's be real Lin will be lucky to even have his name on the ballot this season. CP3, Parker, and Curry are the only legit All Star PGs in the West. I wouldn't even bother to consider Lillard, Holiday, Conley, Dragic, Lin, etc

I'm a Lin fan but we need to seriously slow down with the All-Star/Star talk.

Lin is a sufficient starter. Let's just be happy with that. Hopefully he will show up for the playoffs if we make it.

If we make the playoffs?!? Ahh, I see what you did there. Reverse jinx in effect.

That is true, but that point doesn't really dispute whether or not he will get into the all star game. He was almost voted in last year and he was doing very bad in the first half of the season (voting was behind CP3, I think).

Do a little research on the Rockets two seasons ago and look at the context before making these Captain Hindsight statements.

not all All-Stars are completely deserving - especially if they have a huge fan base. If Lin puts up 15/7, i think he gets in.

I wouldn't include Calderon with those other guys.

You're telling me you don't know anything about the Rockets before Feb 2008? I've been a Rockets fan before my join date OK?
    Don't be so presumptuous please.

I'm not a professional, sorry; can't hold me to the same standard to the FO.
