You can't predict somebody's future. Who knows. It can be this team is not a right team for him. Nash got his two MVP after he changed team.
Well he might be in an all star game in the future but as far as last season all star game he didn't deserved to be in it based on how he played last season.
I did not said Lin deserved All star game for last season. I said if he had a better stats last year, he will complete with Harden for all star. And this is something that Harden does not want. And it's a plus that Lin has huge fan base.
I'm going to assume you are really new to the NBA, if you think rookies vs sophomore game is the same as the all-star game. They are not the same thing.
Are you talking about the voting? Yes, Lin got a lot more votes than Harden last year and he could have "competed" with Harden for a spot if he started out very well. I'm not sure he will get as much votes this year, based on how Harden played last year, he could end up with more votes. We'll see.
I'm pretty sure Harden would be happy to have another teammate make the All Star team. That will only show how good his teammate is and boost their confidence and trust in eachother.
Based on what do you assume that Harden does feel happy if he can't get into all star and someone else did?
Lol they can both get in the All Star game. Miami had Bosh, Wade and Lebron starting in All Star game last season. It's not limited to one player a team.
So what? Do you think that McHale or the other players on the bench care about why they are in Taiwan? It is very possible they don't even want to be in Taiwan. No it isn't reasonable. McHale's job is to get the Rockets ready for the regular season, not showcase Jeremy Lin. No, to expect that the other players on the team would modify their game is absurd and selfish. The Rockets are all getting ready for the regular season, that is their job, not to showcase Lin. Beverley played like he usually does. As far as I know there are no problems between Lin and Beverley and it did not appear to me that Beverley modified his game. Harden is supposed to take more shots, and that is what he did. The Rockets are getting ready for the regular season, they are not supposed to be throwing a party for Lin. People like you make it harder for Jeremy Lin. I doubt he wants special treatment and to have everyone walk on egg shells around him.
Correct me if I'm wrong but fans only choose the starters for all-star games. Coaches choose the other 7 remaining spots. Fans voted in Kobe and Chris Paul. Harden was selected by the coaches. Harden is pretty much going to be guaranteed a spot through coach selection for the rest of his career. He's not competing with Lin's fanbase. Lin's fanbase is competing with Kobe and Paul's though. If Lin edges one of them out, he can sneak into the all-star game as a starter. I doubt that'll happen but who knows, if Kobe doesn't play then maybe he can win the fan vote this year and get in.
Yeah I doubt it too but it would awesome to have 3 Rockets players on the All star team lol. Howard and Harden most likely will be in the All Star game but if Lin somehow gets in there too that's going to be great for the team.
kobe is on his way out and if he doesn't get the china votes he won't get in. yes, there will be more votes for kobe than lin from china this year even if kobe doesn't start playing until January. the chinese won't trust a black guy to do their taxes but they absolutely still believe that black guys are better basketball players and white guys are better english tutors. that's just the way it is. if the rockets make it to the finals this year and next, harden won't need coaches' vote. and the other starting spot is up for grabs between curry, westbrook, and cp3. lin will need to rely on coaches vote and he'll need to play his ass off to even be considered by the coaches.
You're right, it probably isn't very strong, but doesn't mean it is not there for sure. Good idea. I'm not gonna write an essay or point out specifics; just wanna make three premises: 1. Lin has obviously faced bias after high school. He has NBA talent but no college scholarship. That makes suspecting people of being biased against him somewhat reasonable. 2. He was cut by the Rockets once. If McHale really thought highly of him the outcome might be different. Morey and Les sort of said, "my bad". But I'm not aware that McHale ever did. Therefore, it is not out of the question that he would have a bias against Lin's ability before or after waiving him (different kinds). 3. Lastly, Lin is pretty underutilized under McHale vis-a-vis under D'antoni. It doesn't necessarily mean he is biased but it wouldn't be wrong to suspect that being the case.
