    Those ratings purely based on statistics are simply misleading/incorrect. Elton Brand over Yao Ming? Ask any GM they will tell you Yao is a top 5 player, and Elton Brand maynot be in top 20. In fact, the only player that I may consider trading Yao for is Duncan. As for Elton Brand, there are probably 20-30 players that I can trade with.

    OK....I'm thinking Steve Francis is better than Marquis Daniels, but what do I know?

    The key thing is that Lebron is getting all the hype, and yet the dude barely makes the top 50.

    I do agree that they should also factor in how a team performs in their calculation. A 20-10 guy in a top 3 Western conference team is much more valuable than a player on, say Chicago, with similar number.

    And the calculation should also be skewed to weigh the recent games more than the older games to reflect what a player does recently than what he used to do.
