I don't root for any teams except Texas. I would like to root for them, but my Aggie friends would never shut up if they did well in the SEC. They still bring up stuff from the Jackie Sherrill days.
That's the fallacy .. I don't think A&M is going to be stealing all kinds of recruits from Texas no matter how good we do. Texas is going to get its share. A&M is going to make up ground on recruiting against Oklahoma (undeniable that this has already happened), and if they start winning, I think we'll make a dent in LSU's recruiting of Texas players that want to play in the SEC.
Put The drugs away. Out of all the Aggies I have known from when I was in school, not a single one wished upon wishes they could have gone to Texas. In case you haven't noticed, getting into A&M isn't exactly easy these days.
Agreed. From my school it wasn't a surprise who went to A&M and who went to UT. They are both two of the top three schools in Texas. They are both hard to get into. Did anyone get rejected from a Texas school that wasn't UT, A&M or Rice? I won't root for them to lose since it will probably make the big 12 look bad but I will enjoy it if it happens. That being said I'm really happy for all their fans. They seem to be really excited. It's just bad timing considering there is so much turnover for the program. Can't really see how they win more than 5 games. Hope that offensive line has improved from last year. If it has Texas might surprise some people. Fozzie ran the wild-horn perfectly last year and if gray can take that over we'll have a team that can clobber a defense. Hook 'Em.
I'm a Tech fan and I hope they do well. Sumlin is a good coach that I want to see succeed. Plus they have Kingsbury if he can score points in the SEC he's can't be to far away from being a HC. I don't fault aTm for leaving they had a much better options available to them. I'm looking forward to a 30 for 30 type documentary on the Big 12 maybe in 10 years to find out exactly what the heck happened...
To be perfectly honest, the only time I ever really cared about how A&M was doing was when it effected the Longhorns in the standings. Now that they are going to the SEC (which I don't watch much anyways), the only reason for me to ever watch them goes right out the door. Now don't get me wrong, I respect them for diving head first into the toughest conference in college football, but I won't be paying much attention to them.
Bump- Freaking AWESOME game Ags. Seriously, one of the best games I've seen, and to knock off Alabama in their OWN stadium, Wow. Props!
I'm going to hear about this game for the next 20 years. Lets hope the Aggies own Alabama like Texas owns Nebraska. That would be totally awesome.
Thanks man. I agree, that might be the best regular season college football game I've ever watched. Manziel is amazing.
Now that your question has been answered...and A&M has slaughtered the South, the next question is do you want to die or not, UT fans? If you say NO, longhorn's fans, then you will follow The Four Horsemen into the 2012 Apocalypse. They have awakened (Destroyed Oklahoma as proof of their power) and they are undefeated against all living beings. It is 2012. The Four Horseman shall save us or we will all die. so it is written so it shall be
I was raised an Irish in a Notre Dame family, and went to school in Houston at Rice, the Longhorn's biggest foe (that's why they left our conference)...we are and they know it ever since that fateful game on ESPN when we embarrassed them in the rain in 1993 when Bert Emanuel (the fastest player in the NCAAs that year) ran a quarterback sneak right up the middle for an untouched 50yrd TD, past UT's collapsing linebackers and safeties left reaching for him. lol. 50 yard quarterback sneak. Oh, Bert is just too fast. And their linemen were crying at the line at the end...I have proof of that. That's right. It's the Four Horsemen, brother. Texas has helped us. Now it is Texas who needs to get behind us and accept the telling of the Apocalypse. The Four Horsemen in 2012.
