actually, there is no argument here, because if T.J. is going to argue that Vince's effiency is the highest in college because of his legs, there's no point. If I point out that he has always been around a 60% completion rate as a starter, he's gonna say, yeah because he can run. there's no point in getting into this, his numbers speak for themselves, whatever you want to attribute them to.

also, vince split time with Mock after Chris left before finally taking over as full-time starter, so I don't understand that argument either.

who cares about what happened two seasons ago. I wonder why he is the first team all-american? I wonder why he has UT in the national championsip game for the first time in God knows how many years? I wonder why he's one of the best winning qbs in college football history?????????????????????????????????

Because Vince wasn't all that good two years ago. What does that have to do with anything?

Vince is now 29-2 as a starter. I'd say he's doing just fine.

My quote was taken out of context once again!! Jorge was saying that he took forever to learn the offense. Someone then responded that he was splitting time with Chance Mock. I guess that person thought Chance Mock was good? Anyways I wasn't comparing him to chance mock.

mack was giving a Chance a chance to start. no pun intended. by the end of the year Young took over that spot. a lot of qbs don't stat early in their career in college. some do, there a lot of circumstances. I'm sure one of those was Vince learning the offense, some of that was chance was a highly thought of player.

This is great. Vince has gone from being plain stupid to being a slow learner.

Bottom line is he gets it now, and all of that painstaking time it took for him to "get it" has lost us a grand total of 2 games.

For those quick to levy blame based on rumors, what is your response to this article that sheds some light on the situation? I see the argument has quickly gone from "Longhorns are convicts" to "VY is stupid".

Waiting on some hater to post a "the boosters got them off" exucse....

The NFL QB many would consider the most "cerebral and intelligent" also didn't start his freshman year at QB until forced in due to injury of the QB ahead of him. Oh, that clearly means that Peyton Manning must be "slow" too, right, TJ? Since he wasn't starting right out of the gate? Whatever.....

The point is this- there are many talented QB's who don't start their freshman and/or sophomore years. It often has to do with the talent ahead of them, it has to do with the learning curve and speed of the college game compared to high school, it has to do with the amount of trust exhibited by the coaching staff towards a given player. We hear all the time that Vince didn't find his groove UNTIL the coaches took the restraints off, and let him loose after the crappy Mizzou game. Is a lot of his success predicated by his running ability. OF COURSE....Why the hell should that count against him? It's what helps make him the threat that he is, but not the only thing. If it was, Texas loses to Ohio State, end of story. Texas beat OSU this year, and Oklahoma State last season in large part due to Vince's ability to beat a team with the pass. Of course he's better now than he was then, and his prior seasons, as far as throwing goes. What, would we prefer that he regress rather than progress? (Yes, he still seems to turn the ball over too much, but that comes with someone who has such playmaking ability, and handles the ball that much more due to his running ability.)

Tom Brady only started two years at Michigan, come to think of it....It's all situational, and to throw out allegations that someone didn't start because they lack intelligence is a huge assumption, at best....

I haven't completely read this entire thread...but did anyone else find it delightfully humorous that this AtM student is insinuating that all the UT fans/students that agree are idiots...immediately following the insinuation that anything that might take 10 minutes to write would need a bibliography?

What did your college papers look like, IC? Did you just copy and paste your latest, indecipherable cybersex chat session? Did that need a bibliography?

Well, good news and bad for the gangstas...looks like the good old boy network came to the rescue of Ramonce and Griffin, but now Myron Hardy's incident with his butterfly switchblade on 6th street has come out. Geez, what else are they hiding in Austin??? This is just absurd. It's a program out of control.

Please prove this reckless accusation. You're accusing these people of felonies. That is highly irresponsible.

Griffin and Taylor are rightfully exonerated; bigtexx goes back to hugging his pillow.
