heres some inside info for all: from what i hear its ramonce thats the culprit. not too sure about griffin and his involvement (he may have just been there at the time and not really done anything), but i think that ramonce will be taken down.
I have to admit that I like this IC2000 character. He is an interesting change of pace compared to the Dynamic Duo from Rice.
I told y'all on the first page that the cops were at Taylor's dorm a couple of nights ago... I wouldn't doubt his involvement at all (as much as I don't WANT him to be involved...).
The main difference is IC2000 writes like an illiterate child. I assume English is not his first language.
i have heard the same, basically he has gotten in all sorts of trouble and has been getting it covered up. we shall see
Ha ha...nice. I can safely say that I have a degree from UT, and am using it to teach in Texas. But you can keep spouting dumb irrational crap if you want....Clearly I lack the power to make you start using your brain, and stop talking out your ass.
Don't be afraid to actually read my post before you respond. One of my points wasn't that UT does no wrong- it's that UT, like no every other institution, is far from perfect. Mack may strive to recruit the people of highest moral character, but they aren't immune to screwing up, either. And, above all, let's wait to see if anyone actually screwed up, or if it's just a non-story, or someone making a mountain out of an ant hill.
you dont have to beleive me, im just passing on the info that i can.. ramonce is the guy they are gonna take down. take it for what its worth.
This isn't meant for UT or any specific school really. .. because there are schools that have more arrests than UT.. but the arguement that you can't blame the school when their players get arrrested I think is weak... Let me explain why I feel this way... Any school can have a few people over the years... chances are a long period .. you will have someone eventually get in trouble.. HOWEVER, there are some schools that have their players in trouble on a REGULAR basis... if a school has multiple players... (sometimes schools even have 10!) get arrested every year.. you have to ask. what kind of people is that school bringing in??? It isn't like these are arrests randomly spread out across all schools.. there are certain programs that seem to be in trouble every year..
Some of the schools I'm thinking about are in the SEC There are quite a few schools that RARELY have players in trouble.. and I think it has somethng to deal with the type of people they recruit... shoot some division 1 schools recruit people with criminal records etc..
The Statesman seems to differ. -------------------- Players had participated in banquet hours before incident that has prompted police investigation. By Tony Plohetski AMERICAN-STATESMAN STAFF Sunday, December 18, 2005 On the night of Dec. 9, University of Texas football players gathered in an Austin Convention Center ballroom to celebrate their season and ramp up enthusiasm for their ultimate goal: the Rose Bowl and a chance for the national championship. Coach Mack Brown had scheduled a practice early the next morning, hoping that players would keep their post-banquet partying in check. But UT System regents chairman James Huffines knew some of them probably had something else in mind: "I know I'm just a speed bump on your way to Sixth Street," he joked to the players in his keynote speech. "Oh, great," a cringing and only slightly joking Brown said later, "now I've got the Board of Regents chairman talking about Sixth Street." Now this. On Saturday, a lawyer representing Longhorns football starters Cedric Griffin and Ramonce Taylor provided more details about an incident last weekend on Sixth Street that has prompted a police investigation into whether the players assaulted a man and demanded money. Lawyer Ken Oden said that according to his clients, the two players were walking along Sixth Street when they crossed paths with another group of men. Police are investigating whether Griffin or Taylor struck one of the members of the second group during the 3 a.m. encounter and whether one or both of them demanded $5, Oden said. "There was an exchange, a very brief exchange, between Cedric and one of those folks," he said. "The focus is whether the verbal exchange was threatening and was there any physical exchange along the way." He characterized Taylor as only a small part of the investigation and said that both players are cooperating with police, with whom Oden met Saturday afternoon. Authorities on Saturday said they will not release the name of the alleged victims because they could be the subject of retaliation. UT Athletics Director DeLoss Dodds has said that his department has uncovered no reason to take action against any of the players. The incident is one of two that authorities said Friday they are investigating involving UT athletes. Without specifying the location, suspects or witnesses, Austin police said the other incident occurred at 3:05 a.m. on Sept. 4 and involved an assault in which an automatic handgun was used. Oden said Saturday that his clients were not involved in the Sept. 4 incident. "Connecting these boys to anything back in September is very unfair and untrue," he said. Oden said he is unsure why his clients may have been linked to that assault. Police have not arrested or charged anyone in either investigation. The investigations come at a time when the team and its players are at the subject of rock-star hype — and scrutiny. Texas, undefeated and ranked No. 2 in the nation, will face the defending national champion Southern California Trojans on Jan. 4 in the Rose Bowl for the Bowl Championship Series national championship — potentially the university's first national title in football in 35 years. Griffin and Taylor both play key roles on the team. Taylor, a sophomore who has split time between receiver and running back, leads the team with 14 touchdowns and is considered the fastest player on the Texas offense. His mother, Ramona Clark, declined to comment Saturday. Griffin, a senior cornerback who has been a starter since midway through his freshman year, is one of the team's top defensive backs. His family could not be reached Saturday. The allegations interrupt a celebratory time on campus. The football team has embraced a season-long theme of "Take dead aim" — a slogan featured prominently at the team's awards banquet the night that the most recent incident allegedly occurred. Longhorns players will continue to work out in Austin before breaking for Christmas Dec. 22. They report to Los Angeles on Dec. 28. Oden said that his clients are "upset and concerned" and that he has spoken with their families, who share their worries. "The police are working 24-7 to answer every single question to make an informed but expeditious decision on what they will do," Oden said. http://www.statesman.com/sports/content/sports/stories/longhorns/12/18texfoot.html
Oh, and I will wait and see what happens before I judge too much.. But if .. IF ut players were involved. they should be kicked off the team... there are some schools who allow players that do stuff like that to stay on the team.... Waiting for more details before I bash anyone at UT though... As for a&m, that team has a HECK of a lot of players arrested last few years
I never understood why people called him Radio. Vince Young does not physically resemble Cuba Gooding jr aside from the fact they are both black. So unless you're the kind of person who thinks they all look alike anyway, the comparison really doesn't make much sense.
UT players need to take Matt Leinhart's example of how to prepare for a Rose Bowl and stay out of trouble. http://www.thesuperficial.com/images/2005/12/Matt_Leinhart1.jpg
It's not because of his looks. A lot of people have hinted that Vince isn't the brightest bulb on the Xmas tree.
