I think the important things we've learned in this situation would be this: 1) Although this country is founded upon the ideals that a person is innocent until proven guilty, people in the public eye are often crucified and perceived as "guilty" long before the truth comes out, and even after the microscopic retractions appear in the papers printing the extra long font about the rumors and accusations. 2) Office buildings, companies, schools, football teams, etc. are all an extension of life. Never have I visited a place perfect, immune to ridicule, and spotless in its own reputation. (Not even RICE! I bet millions of BBS users just crapped themselves at that revelation!) Why? Because life isn't perfect, and people aren't perfect. And no matter what a coach/ recruiter does for a football school, the reality is that those coaches and recruiters can't be there with the athletes 100% of the time to make decisions. And in another newsflash-worthy announcement, good people screw up sometimes, too. As Jose Lima would say, "Believe it!" 3) Bigtexxx, IC2000 Trader_Jorge, etc. are aroused more only by the chance at taking a shot at UT athletics than they are by the computer p*rn that keeps them living at their computer 24 hours a day. Remember that time when IC2000 posted less than 52 times in a ten minute span? I think he stopped to take a dump, and his connection went out on the laptop he took to the can with him. I have an idea- if you don't like UT, stop reading about UT. I could give a rat's ass about Rice or Texas A&M, but my life isn't consumed by trying to take a dump on your academic institutions. The b****ing and moaning you three do is beyond ridiculous. I want to talk UT sports, but I don't want to see every single thread derailed by one of you tools throwing some conditional crack about how UT cheated to get it. I'm just shocked you haven't cracked on the golf, swimmers and track athletes yet. Hmmmm....I guess I could just say we didn't learn anything from this. All three of these items were pretty much "common knowledge" before this incident. Water is wet, grass is green, a UT thread will inevitably be infiltrated by 3 (or more) posters who would set ablaze the UT campus if they could, but couldn't start a fire if you spotted them a match, a cigarette lighter and some gasoline. Here's my suggestion- STOP spending your lives trying to take a dump on UT when you could be celebrating your own successes. (Like your new defensive coordinator hires, for instance.) Stop pissing on UT when you could be inciting a productive debate on why your university should change its mascot to a quantum physics book rather than an owl. Or tell your school to stop playing 1-A sports if you don't like the rules. No one is forcing you to use the standards you have, so if you don't like the rules, put your protractors back in your holsters, pick up your ball, and go home. But for the love of all that is sacred, stop trying to get your fix by playing private investigator in every single case of UT success. There are many cases where the hard work and dedication put forth by wonderful student athletes is ignored because the Oliver Stone stooges can't concede that UT might have some programs worth a damn. Are they perfect? Hell no....But, we, as readers, and they don't deserve your persistent, obvious, and relentless loads of crap you all offer up as "insightful." Yeah, about as insightful as feeding a dog exlax....no matter what goes down, all that's coming out is a bunch of expected crap. Let's offer up some BBS looks into the future..... "Typical UT fan rationalizing their undisciplined and out of control program...." But then again, if bigtexxx, et al. didn't already know everything about the details of these situations and circumstances, they wouldn't POSSIBLY share their opinions, would they? Yeah, right....Just like they'll have stupid crap to say if the players are found innocent. Go away....yes, I am begging if that's what it takes....

You just spent at least 10 minutes on that post. Is there a bibliography with this? I think its funny how UT never does anything wrong . Howver, they have a great football team and program. I will always chime in on these threads when I find them. You have to. What fun would it be to have a bunch of idiots agreeing on the same thing?

Your involvement in this thread does nothing but confirm, without a shadow of a doubt, that you're a total UT hater (and bitter Aggie) with no agenda other than to piss on UT, like bigtexxx. So, congratulations, no one will ever listen to you again regarding college sports. In fact, people will now go out of their way to make you look foolish. I hate UT but respect that they are good at sports and a great university. I am not some idiot who puts down individuals who goes to UT or question the univeristy's academics, or say their coach is taking advantage of steers
Wow, interesting to read this thread. To the UT fans, I honestly hope that if the players are innocent that they're cleared and allowed to play as soon as possible. I also hope that you guys have a great PR department. Even though not one person that was accused of anything at CU during the "rape scandal" was ever proven guilty (hell, all of the cases were thrown out of court), you can see how badly it tarnished our image.
