I know that, to single out state schools is ridiculous. that's my point. he mentions "state schools" specifically. these problems happen at private institutions also.

Of course this is what we are going to hear. Every big shot in Austin is helping to cover this one up. I hope they play in the Rose Bowl, I don't want to hear any excuses

I also know the police said this, "Although Austin police and the University of Texas have not identified the individuals under investigation"

Does it say exactly who flashed the gun? Does it say it was even a Longhorn player that flashed a gun? Hell, the articles don't even mention the player's names. But yet, you seem to know all the hard facts, amazing. I think I speak for everyone in this thread that is trying to have some sort of an intelligent thread, STFU!!

It's one thing to be bias, it's another thing to be a complete moron. Even USC fans on the Insidetexas.com forum were saying they've had problems like this as well and that is usually gets cleared. Justice just had a similar instance last season. Must be Pete Carroll's fault for recruiting thugs, right?

True or not, this is just plain dumb, some people don't realize what they have going on for them right now. If it's Micheal Houston, that's fine, he's leaving anyways. Hopefully, Ced and RT weren't a big part of it.

    This is priceless....

You think this incident might have had something to do with his departure? ...and you're OK with this? "That's fine"? Wow...

If it was VY, then I see your point. But since it's a freshman, who is the main culprit, then I don't care whether he leaves one way or the other. This kid wasn't going to see any PT anyways.

I'm not saying that the incident had no effect on his decision, but would you have been really pissed if Dion Glover got into some trouble right before we waived him? Probably not.

I guess I'm still one of those old guard idealists who prefers that their university's athletic programs not bring shame to the school by continually getting in trouble with the law. "That's fine" doesn't fly in my book.

As long as we have a chance at the national title then bring in whoever!! And if they mess up, oh well let them transfer.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I respect that.

But it's comments like, "who prefers that their university's athletic programs not bring shame to the school by continually getting in trouble with the law" that make your posts just seem like pointless rants.

Even the best athletic departments in the world cannot control everything their players do. Hell, the #1 football team in the nation last season couldn't stop their starting tackle from pulling out a gun, would you say that their athletic department brought shame to the school?

lol ... I know this A&M guy isnt talking... Jorrie Adams? Erik Hayes? How many recruits have been dismissed in the past year? Wait and didnt A&m get busted for cheating in the 90's (which coincided with their last win streak vs texas )? Talk about throwing stones in a glass house ...

its Erick Mayes , and are we talking about A&M? If you want to start a thread about it then thats fine. Those guys were immediately dismissed from the team even though they were freshmen starters.

Hypocritical much, IC2000? I suggest you chastise coach Fran with your next post or risk losing that last shred of credibility you're hanging on to regarding college football and joining bigtexxx in the "Comical UT Hater Dismissed Out of Hand" corner. The choice is yours.

Some inside info for you UT fans, you better hope this is the year. Because Radio told a friend of mine he is going pro unless he gets hurt. I can hear it now, how would he tell them? You are just hating! Whatever you want to think. I am telling you what you I have heard.

If we were talking about AM then thats fine. We are not, just because AM gets in trouble also does not make it ok that Ut does. This is typical five year old thinking that I would expect from Vecsey Sucks. When did I say that AM has a clean image?
