then again, I don't know that I think they should be bringing in people that far below the average to begin with
True - but unless everyone is the same, then someone has to be below average. Why not the football players?
Also, I think it makes a different if the athletes have to meet the same basic admission standards of other students. If they do, they then are a legitimate section of the lower-end of the student population. If not, then I think there's a bigger argument that the school is bringing in students that are not otherwise qualified to be at the school.
Yeah I agree. There reallly are a lot of players that can get into school, some schools just let more of the ones who aren't qualified in... While some make them go through some admissions process. We had a guy wanting to be a walk on and he had a 29 on his ACT, but since he had to go through the regular admissions process he was rejected (since that was below average). All the tennessee fans were tearing us apart because we were mean and didnt let him in.. lol
major , on second thought you are right.. let the fb players be below average... we had a player that made the nfl and had a 1600 sat score.. i felt bad that he was smarter than me in class.. and could play fb lol...
who was the guy from rice who played center, I think he played for San Diego, who was like 16 when he went to rice. edit: courtney hall, i think that's true about his age.
