I could tell you "gramar" is not properly spelled. On another note, the mar1juana weight was under 5 lbs.
I always thought A&M took the brunt of the crap on this board, but I will say people love to hate both of our schools. On this board, I think it's pretty fair to say that the majority of the people are pro-UT. I can't say that about A&M. It doesn't help any that the people that post the most here in favor of A&M tend do so very caustically. I try to avoid these threads because I know there's no winning and that whatever I post has almost no chance of changing anybody's mind. That's not really true. Gillispie has done a great job in turning around our program, but we're still not anywhere near the powerhouse UT still is in basketball. Until we put up a similar record against comparable teams (don't forget we had a very easy nonconference schedule this year) or are ranked in the polls around UT, it's hard to say we have a comparable team despite the fact that A&M has picked up a couple of wins against them.
Not sure if anyone's already posted this, but your aggies recruited Ramonce as well. So, I guess your sickened by the players the Aggies try to bring in also? http://www.temple-telegram.com/story/2003/6/5/392
i know he seems like an aggie, but he is a rice grad. anyhow...he won't respond in this thread because he is being beaten down.
Believe it or not, all Aggies are not like Rocketteen. I am an Aggie and I am sickened by the players that both A&M and UT have recruited in recent years. There are intelligent Aggies out there...
I bet he still goes to the nfl. the nba has bad rep of thuggary, but the real thugs lie in the nfl. anyone remember tammarick vanover. that dude left florida st. early because of trouble for god sakes and played with the chiefs after being in canada I believe. he was the same type of player, kind of all purpose but more of a receiver. then he and bam morris got in trouble.
First of all, as has been stated before, Ramonce had no alteracations with the law when he was recruited. Secondly, how about waiting until all of the information comes out before extrapolating Ramonce's arrest to an institutional problem with UT. Yes, Ramonce is hardheaded and makes some STUPID decisions, but he is 20 years old. I am fairly good friends with him and hang out with him a lot. It was not his 5 pounds. His boys probably sell and he was unaware of it when he called the cops. While he is boneheaded, he is not stupid. He took AP Calculus in high school and made decent grades. He would NEVER call the cops knowing there was 5 pounds of mar1juana in the car. He also has NEVER sold any mar1juana, and I doubt he decided to start that night. The facts will clear him of the possession charge. That being said, his head is too big and he will not even be eligible to play for UT next year. He does think he is above the law, but he is not DUMB. There is a difference. As mentioned before in this thread, there were no warning flags about Ramonce before the 6th street incident. When he was being recruited, he did have the reputation of being cocky and arrogant. I figure that most dominant high school athletes are the same way however. I love when people get all in a tizzy when the "sips" do something wrong because they give away the fact that they are aggies and just hate any and all things UT. Let's just wait until the facts are out before judging Ramonce guilty of possession and extrapolating that to an institutional problem at UT.
Ramonce will be making an announcement sometime today that he is leaving the University of Texas. Translation: Mack Brown etc. told him to get the hell out of Dodge.
No link (article was e-mailed to me): Decision made on RT's future with Texas Jason Suchomel Orangebloods.com Editor Talk about it in Inside the 40 Acres Ever since his arrest on mar1juana possession in May, the speculation on Ramonce Taylor's future with the Texas Longhorns has been all over the map. Some rumors had the playmaking junior working hard to get things in order for a return to the Longhorn program, while others had the talented running back/wide receiver having played his last game in a burnt orange uniform. Associated Press Ramonce Taylor has decided to leave the Texas football program. On Tuesday morning, confirmation came in that it was the latter that was indeed true – Taylor is choosing to transfer from The University of Texas. Reports in various news outlets have Taylor opting for a transfer to Texas College in Tyler, an NAIA school. But Ramona Clark, Taylor's mother, said a transfer school has not been finalized. "He's opting to leave Texas. That's all that's actually fact right now," she said. An official statement regarding Taylor's decision was expected today when Mack Brown addresses the media at the Big 12 football media days in Kansas City. Texas College head coach Jay Brown told KTBB radio in Tyler that he could not confirm the transfer and nothing was solid at this point. He did note that he's planning to meet with Taylor and his family this weekend while in Austin for the THSCA all-star game. Taylor was suspended from the Texas team in January for academic reasons. His name hit the national media wire in May when he was charged with a state jail felony drug possession charge after Bell County sheriff's deputies found a bag containing four pounds of mar1juana in his truck. Taylor's attorney, Killeen's Buck Harris, said the drugs belonged to one of the other three passengers in Taylor's vehicle. Recently, reports surfaced that Taylor was participating with the Longhorn team in voluntary summer workouts, which are not supervised by the Texas coaching staff. That news had the Longhorn fan base hopeful that Taylor could be working towards a return to the program, but sources have since indicated that academics are in fact the reason that Taylor has decided to transfer. Clark said she was unsure on whether the decision to leave the program had to do with academics or if the choice was due to disciplinary reasons. "I can't even say. All I know is that he's opted to leave Texas. That's the only thing that's a fact right now. The rest is all rumors," she said. As a sophomore, Taylor accounted for more than 1,200 all-purpose yards for the Longhorns and scored 15 touchdowns. Regarded as one of the most explosive players in all of college football, he lined up at wide receiver early in the year before moving to tailback to help lend depth after Selvin Young and Jamaal Charles were injured. He averaged nearly seven yards per carry in rushing for 561 yards and 12 scores.
lol Rice is not going to besmirch its good name by letting in the dregs of society into its Institution. We don't w**** out our academic requirements just for a couple of wins on the gridiron. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2529138 Does anybody else have a problem with Taylor comparing his struggles to those of black slaves? I can't imagine that Frederick Douglass would have approved of this reference.
