I do. I have the same problem with it that I had with Reverend Lawson's comparing Ken Lay to Jesus Christ, Martin Luther King, and James Byrd at his memorial service. Now...back on track....don't you think Ramonce's future is to become Ricky Williams' backup on the Toronto Argonauts? I hear they get really good stuff up there..... By the way....35 posts to go, eh Bushbot?
Good to see that Rice isn't one of the schools willing to sign good players with questionable backgrounds just to win football games. I wish there were more schools like this. With that being said, I hope he transfers to Sam Houston State. We could really use a player like him.
I would if that's what he actually did. I read the article and I don't see any comparison to the struggle of black slaves. I don't see it in that quote either.
We'll miss RT on the field but not as much as some people think. While he has that homerun ability, he wasn't that great of a back or receiver IMO. We have a very solid RB core in Charles, Young, and Melton, and this should open up some opportunities for McGee as well. With that said, I'm glad RT isn't coming overall. The guy has gotten himself into quite a bit of trouble since stepping onto the 40-acres and I don't want us to become a school like the U or Florida St. Mack said they wouldn't consider reinstating RT to the team, glad he kept his word.
Yeah, I'm glad he's gone. Ramonce is widely acknowledged around campus as a thug. Amazing talent though...he never works out, never practices, etc... What you see on Saturdays is a product of god-given talent only. He'll be missed on the field, but we don't need guys like that at our university.
Right, I agree. I think this would've been a bigger loss last year when the running game (coming off of the moving on of Benson/ Selvin injury issues) and the wide receivers were bigger question marks. I do love the versatility and the trick-play threats that Taylor posed, but I am stoked for the JC era assuming he can stay healthy as our RB. He's got plenty of speed, and is much better at breaking tackles. As for the WR situation, now that we know what we have in Billy Pittman, and (knock on wood) Jordan Shipley is finally healthy, we really don't need him at WR, either. So, good luck to him....But if he decided to waste his second chance with Texas, then good luck to him elsewhere- don't want him tainting our program.
i would if that's what he actually did, yes. But, I don't think using a quote by someone famous necessarily implies that you are trying to correlate your plight or strife with theirs. I've heard it done plenty of times before, but I don't think this is a case where RT is saying he's in a struggle similar to that of slaves....He's using inspirational words of someone who lived the life of slavery. Big difference, imo....
It is very interesting that Ramonce is planning on transferring to such a small school. He would instantly become the Husker's or Oregon State's best player if he transfered there, let alone some other D1 school.
Perhaps he doesn't want to sit out a year, or maybe the academics at D-I schools are scaring him off. Don't know for sure....
Yep, I forgot about him having to sit out a year. Either way, RT is gonna have to pay up for his mistakes. He may have been the 2nd best talent we had on offense last season, I don't think he was/is NFL material but like Mathis/D. Hall, he could have been a solid return man on the next level.
Who's going to quarterback the horns next year? Colt McCoy from 2A Jim Ned high school or Jevonne Snead from Stephenville?
I don't know what this world's gonna bring But I know one thing This is the life for me ... Baby, 'cuz I'ma thug.
