Depends on who gets the text. And, again, there was absolutely zero info that her or SCK stated that didn't make me know exactly what they were saying.

You aren't being coy. You're being stupid.

I just want to make the damn thing legal. It would silence the dumbasses who think it is cool just because it is illegal.

And there are more of you out there than you know.

Ya there are kids who smoke to fit in or look cool. The same could be said for drinking.

Everyone and their momma smokes in Cali. I don't get this logic.

Same could be said for Alaska in the 80's. And just look at their productivity these days!

Do some research. How is Cali's bottom line? Hmm?

I don't drink for long periods, but I enjoy going out with friends every so often and getting buzzed.

I don't ever feel a need to drink, but it is fun socially.

    I call it getting high.
I'm not worried about what or who hears that I'm going to get high. It's not like I'm walking around smoking pot.

FFB so what your trying to say is that as soon as it becomes legal it won't be cool to do it, so we will go on to use other illegal drugs?

I don't think it's "cool" to get high, I just enjoy to unwind. I smoked 3 blunts yesterday, and currently rolling one up, ima go spark it up.

This one is for you FatBastard.

(Partially) due to this thread, I'm going to attempt to stop drinking at all during the week, save for Thursday. I've gained a good amount of weight since I quit smoking (working from the house hasn't helped, either) and need to either jog it off or start buying a new wardrobe. I can't even fit into half of my clothes these days.

So I'm going to go the jogging route. I'll keep y'all posted.

(That said, I'll still be drinking this evening, FWIW.)

About a year maybe? There wasn't any particular reason.

    very interesting thread.

For those of you saying "a lifetime", do you mean you've never tried it before? not even a sip? and what is your motivation for not drinking? religious reasons? Do you live in parts of the world where drinking isn't acceptable? if not, do you got hassled by friends/acquaintances for not drinking?

I ask because I myself have never consumed alcohol in my life, and I don't see any problem with it. For some reason people think it's really freaking odd that you've never drank before. I mean, you always see people who don't smoke cigarettes or have never even tried them, people don't say "really? NEVER? not even a sip?!".. and I'm an ex cig smoker btw. First thing people wonder is "is it because of your religion?", and I don't really know how to answer that. I mean, yes my religion frowns upon alcohol consumption, and I feel good that I don't do it, but that's not even close to being the primary reason. I just never understood the hype about it, and I've hung out with drunk people enough to see how stupid it makes them act. And no, I don't have a family history of alcoholism, just like everyday experiences in college and stuff. I've never felt the inclination to even try it, and I've always been repelled by the damn smell lol.

anyway I got a little carried away with the rambling, but bear with me it's late and I've been studying all day.

Probably because it is pretty much THE thing high schoolers do as an act of independence. Hell, My Dad drove me to my first keg party. And came back and picked me up... AT 15! Yeah, my family was awesome.

Pot is typically the next thing, but I'd say 90% of high schoolers go to a keg party, and 75% deal with a party with pot at one point.

The only shock is that you weren't in that majority. Any reason why?

I want to say a year, but I am not 100% positive. My senior year I don't think I drank at all, maybe once.

Over the last few years, probably no more than 2-3 days. I rarely drink to the point that I get intoxicated, but I do usually have at least a beer or a glass of wine with dinner. Usually more on the weekends.

And so what? Why is it that a mild altering substance like alcohol is legal, or cigs (which have many more dangerous chemicals and substances), but a PLANT, and unprocessed PLANT, is illegal? I can't take a plant, put it in some paper and light it in on fire? Is it dangerous to drive high? Could I overdose? It's BS man, how can the government tell me I can't consume this plant, but big tobacco gets to keep spitting out its cancer sticks...why? Because they make more money? Because they give more to congress? Because our country was built on tobacco?

Why was prohibition of alcohol illegal? I can understand crack, cocaine, heroin, and such, those are much more damaging to your body, and people do crazy things for their addictions. mar1juana is not physically addictive, yet some people treat it like a gateway drug...that is ABSOLUTELY r****dED. I smoked in college, BUT I WOULD NEVER do any other drug. Weed isn't dangerous, it makes you hungry, and tired...those are like my two best feelings, who doesn't love to eat/sleep...

It is utterly ridiculous that we live in a world where we can not do what we want, how come 535 Congressional representatives and senators can tell me what i can and can not do? This isn't murder, this isn't theft....this is smoking an herb to make you feel a little better about your day...it's like taking 5 shots...without the risk of KILLING SOMEONE WHEN DRIVING HOME.

The government could make serious money from taxes and regulations, it could also make the streets safer, AND by moving the purchasing location from the streets and drug dealers and into safe, secure, and protected businesses maybe young people won't be tempted to try other things they are offered when purchasing from their drug dealers.

I just want to reiterate my point for Fatty: Tobacco is legal. Alcohol is legal. In 2006 over 22 THOUSAND people died from alcohol-induced causes. 435 THOUSAND deaths in 2010 caused by tobacco related diseases. How many are caused by mar1juana? Is there a single confirmed case?

WHAT IS THIS BS FREEDOM WE TALK ABOUT? WHAT A SHAM
