Serious question: Why do pot smokers always have to use uber-wanna-be-hip names to describe what they are doing? Bud, Chronic, 420, Dro, etc.? It's is lame and borderline r****ded. I recall my friends doing that. In high school. In the 80's? How lame are you?

You've never seen me on here going "I was so like 'nated on the sauce last night, but then I had a hankerin' for a hunk a 'syrup this morning and now I'm sooo driznik on the juice!"

Of what? You realize that people my age and older realize what you're talking about.

Part of the culture you donkey, that's like asking why black people used the N word.

And you do post things like "I'm a drunk, I hate myself"

    Uh, no I don't.

And I'm just pointing out the obvious. It isn't as cool as you think it is.

It's defineitly a life changer for the better. Congrats.

Amazing how it can take hold of someone and destroy everything around them.

It's funny... I have alcoholism on both sides of my family. Both my mom and dad were both pretty bad in the late 80s to early 90s. My dad nearly destroyed his marriage (to my stepmom) and my mom had a habit of getting involved with abusive drunks.

And yet, despite my apparent predilection to overconsumption, I've never found it difficult to moderate my drinking. I don't know... it seems (to me, anyway) that it's more a matter of willpower than anything. I know the potential road I face, but any time it seems like I've taken even a single step down it, I just stop. That easy.

Ah, well. What do I know? Just my two cents.

You know man, I never had a hard time quitting anything bad for me either. I was into quite a bit of self destructive things growing up.

Some people aren't that strong or lucky when it comes time they should quit. No one starts out thinking something can get a hold of them.

I always say my dad was the smartest/dumbest person I've ever known. He literally had an IQ of genius levels. The things he could just look at and solve in seconds were astounding. But he blew it, he got lost so deep in the bottle that he was never able to do great things.

I quit drinking 4 years before my son was born, he is now 14 months. The things I share with him fill me up like nothing ever has. I bring this up because I never thought it bothered me missing all those things with my dad. I know he didn't intend to lose his family completely, but he did and there is no turning back.

Point is, you don't always know it's gonna get ya till it does. Not implying anything as far as your concerned, just saying.

Anyway, of course we've met and I know you're a pretty cool cat. Thanks for the story
and hope you're perfecting that jumphook :p

Not sure if you are criticizing legal bud or not. But do not underestimate. Boulder has legal growing facilities. These kids know how to do it, and it is highly competitive [pun intended].

    enjoy...although i don't anymore.

let me put it this way, premium in Houston and premium in Boulder are the same quality; I have tasted it enough to know out of curiosity. Boulder is at least $100 less per qp.

And the "medical mar1juana" places look exactly like what "high times" places looked like in the 80's. The whole thing is a f***ing joke.

I'm not wholly against mar1juana. I'm against the culture. True legalization would piss these kids off royally. They don't think so now, but they would in 10 years.

To them it's all about being "against the system!!!!!!-ad-nauseum."

Not to be a pedant, but if the question is "What is the longest you've gone without drinking?", the answer for almost everybody is going to be between birth and the time you took your first drink, sometime between age 10 and 20.

Unless you were drinking martinis when you were in diapers, not having a drink for the last four or five years will not, in fact, be the longest period that you have not had an alcoholic drink.

not sure what you are arguing about. I am just saying that these facilities are not a "joke" if what we are talking about is quality. The rest is politics.

btw: Boulder made $500,000 on tax revenue for this last year. $10m total sales.

again...quality in Houston is $100 more expensive than top shell equal stuff in Boulder, based on qp prices.

Not when anyone with a brain can figure them out. For example, my friends when we were in high school had our own word for them: "Nations." Short for "Inebriations." We called getting high being "Nated." And when Cops would ask what we were doing, a few of us would even say "just skateboarding and getting nated." Cops had no idea what that meant.

If you want to hide terminology, make sure its beyond what 40 year olds can figure out...

The "joke" is that these places are for potheads and not for people who need them to overcome cancer or the pains associated with it, which was why these were formed in the first place.

I think what finals meant is paranoia when talking on the phone or sending texts. Who gives a crap what the "40 year olds" think..

correct. but that is about the medical gateway guy, not the growers. you can't walk in and get it. and each facility is limited to how many "patients" they can have per seller license. I think they can increase it for a fee. And they are limited to how many plants they can grow per patient.
