40+ in junior high. They'd have those "lock-in" things where all the kids are locked in the YMCA or similar venue for the night, between 6PM to 6AM or whatever.... Most people brought sleeping bags but I'd literally play ball for 3 straight hours, eat a hot dog, ball for 2 more hours, get a soda, ball even more, repeat (And not even bringing a change of clothes one time, yuck).

When I'd get home next morning, instead of wanting to sleep it felt like time to wake up so I'd go play Nintendo or whatever...it was a times flies when you're having fun thing, and nap time flew by without me thinking of it :) But that was surely then, cant even get close to stimulated enough to want to try that again.

Over 100 hours when I was in college.

To be fair, it wasn't intentional, so it's not like I consider it an accomplishment. I just have some weird insomnia issues sometimes. Each night for 4 or 5 days I would lay in bed, try to sleep for a few hours, but I was WIDE awake the whole time, so I gave up. I didn't even feel particularly out of it until the 4th day or so. It just kinda happened.

It wasn't even finals week. Probably a week into my 2nd soph semester, actually.

In college (graduated in 2005), I had plenty of all-nighters where I went 24 hours without....the longest came before my thermodynamics final, where I stayed awake for something like 35 hours studying for it (and another exam, but mainly thermo). I ended up falling asleep DURING the exam for about 10 minutes, waking up not knowing what I was doing, and failing the exam. Luckily I got a C in the class, and I passed. God I hated that freaking course.

Fifteen years ago I worked on a CD-based game for the 3DO. It was just a few days before the release, so I pulled a 52-hour shift, testing and fixing last-minute bugs.

In those bad old days, there were no software patches like you have now; the software had to be close to 100% perfect. The adrenalin of trying to avoid a lifetime of professional embarrassment/shame is the only thing that kept me going.

When I used to work the graveyard shift during my apprenticeship, I would routinely be up for 60 hours or more without sleep, especially since it was football and basketball season.

I've worked for 42 hours straight before which if you add the time getting ready and then going home probably put me in the ~44 hour range.

a quick google search will show that with that amount of time - which is possible, however unlikely and rare - he most probably would have been way into hallucinations and sleep deprivations.

On the other hand, apparently there are the rare few who are wired such that they can be insomniacs, like Thai Ngoc, who apparently hasn't slept in over 30 years...

who knows. I've never gone more than 50 hours, myself.

My son had colic, so about 3 months. I honestly don't remember sleeping during that time. It was probably no more than an hour a night combined for my wife and I.

Probably around 30 or so hours during Black Friday this past year. Woke up at 9am on Thanksgiving day. Didn't sleep until 3 or 4pm after because when I got back from shopping, my cousin wanted to play Madden. I can't imagine going any longer because I felt like garbage.

Longest gone without sleep for me was probably around 45-50 hours when my father was dying in the hospital few months ago. And I stay up for 20-30 hrs atleast once a week playing some mmorpg game few years back.

The longest sleep I have had is 17 hours. I dunno how long the longest I have stayed up is. I have pulled about all-nighters in the last month, but I can't really do more than 1 night

Y'all are a heartier bunch than I am. I think when I was in my early 20's, I went 25 to 26 hours without sleep during a New Year's Eve. Started playing a pinochle game with some of my best friends, we started around 11 that night and didn't finish until 5 in the morning. I then hung around for like an hour or so before driving back home (it was a little more than 30 minutes). I remembered as I got closer to home, everything seemed to be in a fog - literally. I was never so glad to be home in my life as I started to freak out that I might wreck since I was so tired. Going without sleep for 40 hours or so is something to me that is unheard, especially now.

25 hours. After that it was like 23 hours.

The 25 hours one was in the summer in the Olympics. I stayed up watching USA-Spain. I remember when I woke up, I was using the computer talking about bball of course. ;) But I remember making breakfast and then I fell asleep watching A Documentary about Hakeem Olajuwon on NBATV.
