Damn I envy DM (never thought I'd say that). That was my schedule for the oh so awesome second semester of my senior year in high school, but those days are long gone.

In terms of consecutive sleepless hours, I'm a lightweight as my best is only 23.5 hours. It really pissed me off too cuz for some unexplained reason I put my head down on a pillow right as I was getting to the full day. Needless to say, I fell asleep and woke up 90 minutes later feeling so stupid. Of course it was the summer and I had no driving force keeping me awake. In terms of having to do school work my record is probably even less than that, although I have hit the 20, 21 hour mark plenty of times.

Just two night ago I stayed up the entire night doing a 20 page paper. Being the actual king of procrastination, with 31 hours until I had to turn it in, I had typed a whopping 6 LINES! But since I had gotten up at 2 in the afternoon that day, when I fell asleep around 10 in the morning I was only at 20 hours.

I would say my best sleep deprivation accomplishment would be about a 6 week stretch my junior year of high school. Somehow I had some form of academic quiz team or math competition every saturday in that run. That meant on M-F, I was up at 6:30 for high school, on saturday no later than 7 for competition and thanks to a change in schedule, no later than 8 for church on sunday. What made it amazing was that I almost always was up till 2 am doing homework (which i had put off till midnight) and frequently was up till 3:30 for AP history quizzes and tests (my eyes get blurry just thinking about it). I think somewhere around the six week time of doing this I started catching a 3 hour nap everyday after school but for those six weeks I was the man. I know no one in any of my classes that could hang with me in not sleeping. That was the problem with my procrastination, I wasn't also a slacker. That meant I actually ended up doing my work and trying to do a really good job on it. Combine that with procrastinating and you're up till 3:30. Now in college I'm much more of a slacker so I don't have horrible nights like that as much.

Please, procrastination king, you don't know who you're dealing with.

I'm reminded of <a href="http://bbs.clutchcity.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16228">this classic thread from one year ago</a>. TL's post is great!

But my procrastination is legendary. . .
<i>one specific weekend was particularly horrid. It was the end of the first semester. We had rearranged the Accounting Schedule and had 3 classes in 3 days, then the final. Needless to say, during that time I didn't sleep hardly a wink. The day after the final, I had a paper due in Theology. It was a 10 to 12 page paper on the book we were supposed to read as our textbook. The professor told us to start the first day of class -- read it 2 or 3 times because it's very intense. Well, I hadn't purchased the book until about a week before this. The sheet describing the assignment had flown out of my car on loop 410. I was in a terrible position. Did I mention this paper was worth 60% of the grade?

Well, after the accounting final (on which I got an A!!!), what did I do? I had a GIANT paper, I hadn't slept in days, so what should I do? Start on the paper? Sleep? NO!!! I WENT TO GO PLAY GOLF!!!

WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!??? I got back to the room at around 8 pm, and started on the paper. Realize that I don't know what the assignment really is, because I lost the sheet. I'm just guessing based on what he'd said in class. So, I start typing and reading the book at the same time, summarizing what I read.

I kept that up at a frantic pace all through the night. I had class at 7:45 and the paper was due by noon. When I went to class, I was only 5 pages into it. At 9:30, I ran to the upstairs library and started typing. I just typed and typed and typed until 12:00. To this day I have NO IDEA what I wrote . . . I was falling asleep the whole time, and trying to come up with something mildly coherent over a book I was skimming for the first time. Well, I finished and went to turn it in. I met a girl from our class up there and we talked about the paper. She started discussing what she'd written about and I just think to myself "I didn't write about any of this!!"</i>
