A couple of months ago i went on a cruise from Galveston to Cozumel on the Elation, i think its part of Carnival Cruise lines but im not sure. It was the best trip of my life and i highly recommend it. But the problem was there was a formal dinner ever night and after the meal the waiter and stuff would dance to music and do some crazy stuff.

This is a longshot but i was hoping that if anybody had gone on a similar trip and knew the songs they played. This has bugged me for months not being able to figure it out.:( I been to countless sites in search of the names of the songs they played. They all were like Hispanic songs that are really catchy and that most people know. I search for like a month and found out that one of the songs was Las Ketchup and i want to know what the others are. Please help....it really bugs me:(. THX:(

Hey man, how was that trip? How much did you end up paying outside of the cost of the cruise? How was the ship?

That's our honeymoon you just went on! :)

The trip was great. The best trip of my life and i have been on alot of trips. I went with a huge group of family and friends. I had a blast. All food was free, they have like a all day buffet for free. Gym, pool, basketball court, casino, and other stuff. This was my first cruise so it might seem more exciting to me then others.

The pool was weird though, it was like a salt water pool so it might burn when u get in. Also the basketball court is on the upper deck so its really really really windy. Every ball curves and it was really hard to play. The days we docked were the best days. No wind and all me and my friends did was eat and play basketball. No worries no cares. Everyone was real nice also.

Now i think about the cruise alot and i really do miss it because it was a time of no worries, deadlines, homework, projects, tests, blah, blah, blah. The music reminds me of the good times.

I really didnt spend much time outside the cruise only spent like 200 hundred. The beaches at Cozumel are really nice and blue unlike galveston water and its good to be out there. We accidently end up on a beach with this one nude lady. Which might be good for some people but not when there are kids around.

All in all the cruise was cool, i had no worries or cares and this was the best trip of my life.

I went on the Elation 2 weeks ago. I got married on the beach in Cozumel. It was a great trip and we had a blast. The piano bar guy let me play a lot on his piano so that was one of the best parts of the trip. We got wasted on the beach in Progreso and we went snorkeling in Belize. My first time to snorkel and I can't wait to do it again.

Since we got married, we ended up splurging a little more than we should. I think that between the two of us, we spent about $500 over the initial cost of the cruise. Most of it was on drinking on the boat which is pretty expensive. Luckily I didn't gamble much.

Unfortunately, I won't be going on another cruise anytime soon because my wife got sea sick on the last day at sea. She says she won't ever go on another cruise because of that.

I loved that cruise, the all day sushi bar was nice. Not the best Sushi, but heck of a lot better than most Japanese buffet's sushi I been too. Great experience, though it end up being close to 700/ person (500+ for ticket plus the excursions + a little bit of money here and there) and I don't know if I can justify spending that kind of cash (well my parents paid for it, since they want to have as much family vacation as possible since me and my brother are getting old, also to make up for a fairly deprived and poor childhood).

All in all I liked it, but if I had that kind of money for vacation, I'd prolly just go to Europe. With round trip tickets to England being under 1000, some times 7 - 800 if you're lucky, I think I would much rather see some of the old western cultures.

You're the kind of guy that would create the perfect woman but then shower with her with your shorts on, aren't you?

I went on this exact cruise. I loved it as well. First cruise and all that. Seems like I remember them doing the Macarena- I'm sure you remembered that one though.

Who was ya'll's Cruise Director? I had Simon. The whole entertainment staff or whatever seemed really cool I thought.

That's awesome guys! Not that I was doubting our selection, but I never thought I would like a cruise. You have me extremely excited now!

My guess is anything by Herb Alpert & the Tiajuana Brass. Anything by those guys is gold.

We took the Elation to Belize last year.

Basketball is definitely a challenge with that wind. One middle aged dude that tried to play with us tore his ACL the first day of the trip.

Simon was our Cruise Director when we went on the Carnival Conquest March of 04. I thought it was cool how most of the staff were not Americans. The only thing I would change for my next cruise is the port times. I didn't like the fact that we weren't at the different ports past 6pm so we didn't get to experience the "night life" at the different ports.

Assuming you haven't already done so, my first choice when wondering what was playing on a cruise ship would be to contact the cruiseline themselves. I would think someone on the ship or with the company would know.
