Someone tell me WTF Morrissey is. From what I can gather, he's recently made his first CD in a while. He looks like a real wanker, but he's been on the cover of a few magazines and people that like Lollapalooza have been busting a nut about seeing him. So when was he big? What type of music does he play?

Oh well, I knew this lineup wouldn't sell tickets.

What DHB said. Stephen Morrissey is his real name and did all kinds of weird stuff like wear a hearing aid and have gladiolas in his backpocket, sometimes doing these things while singing.

He was more of a poet and a lot of his lyrics have a sarcastic tinge to them.

He along with Johnny Marr, the guitar player, is what made the Smiths so great despite the fact they were only around from 1982 to 1987. Morrissey was also somewhat ambiguous about his sexuality, but this did not stop many girls from obsessing over him as my older sister was one of those girls.:)

That sucks. At least I get a refund, but I don't get to see the Pixies again, at least for now. Oh well, I can definitely use the money for other things, but it is a bummer.

Wasn't this year's Lollapalooza 2 days long? Most people simply can't take that much loud music, especially those of us on the verge of 30. And most of the bands appeal to those already out of school, so that means 2 days off of work as well. Other than Modest Mouse, you don't hear any of these bands on MTV (which sucks), so that means the teenagers (who have the free time and cash) aren't going to be as interested.

It was a great lineup, but they should have thought things through better.

i was about to post the same thing. this years lineup seems almost as good as last years (maybe better?), and it's still cheap as all hell.

i'm definitely going to at least one of the days.

I don't care if the rest of the bands on this show were ones that I have never heard of...Wilco and the Flaming Lips makes it a must see. Too bad it isn't going to happen now.:(

Lollapalooza had an amazing line-up this year, but it seems obvious that those bands weren't going to sell enough tickets over 2 days to make any money (or even break even). That music was for the late 20s early 30s set ~ not a big summer festival group anymore IMHO. Actually (not including the Pixies) I think the upcoming Cure show has a better bill of headliners and you don’t have to stand in the sun for 2 days…

I'm really surprised: many indie labels are having lots of success and Coachella was huge.
