This is not the Chinese National Team... a design like this invokes images of the brutalization of Tibet, crushing of dissent, international diplomacy arrogance and intransigence that makes the Bush Administration seem like Mr. Rogers in comparison, and the cynical travesty that is financial prosperity without freedom of thought and movement. Under no circumstances should any red-and-yellow design other than retro-Rock gear should be considered, Yao notwithstanding.

Why don't you move to dallas or somewhere so you can have a team with the city's name on it

I can't recall being afraid to post in any thread here ... I'm kind of baffled by the suggestion, since I'm the one who suggested that people lobby on the third jersey if they wanted to see "Houston" on it.

Since then, I've been listening. Vital skill in marketing.

Good point. I have been posting rather rudely in this thread. I would like to extend an apology to Tim and Matt Maloney, be it accepted or not.

Matt, I reacted thusly because your earlier comment hit home. I took it personally and, having seen some truth in your statement, reacted hastily with anger-filled self defense disguised by it's offensive presentation.

Tim, I was acting rashly because I was quite upset and bitter after being let down at the Toyota Center, and I used you as a scapegoat in my mind. In reality, I appreciate the work that you did in allowing me to view that beautiful building...and free of charge to boot. Your posts here are definitely more useful than mine, so try not to let a thoughtless comment like the one just I made upset you.

But thanks for bringing that to my attention R2k. I'll have to work on my quick trigger on that "Submit Reply" button as of late.

... We're slowly approaching 300 votes for the third jersey...

... somehow, though, I don't think that's nearly enough to warrant the expense of developing and producing a 3rd jersey.

(hey Clutch! Pad the votes a little, will ya?! ;) )

not a prob bud..I know from your past that you arent normally that way..

    Here's some more good news..

One Week To The First Preseason Game.
    Offseason is almost over..:D

    EDIT: Tim...
Would you mind clarifying the rules on alternative jerseys?
Me and slinslin were wondering how long yall have to wait to introduce the third jersey. Is it one year or two?

Appreciate it if you could clarify this for us.

The rule I'm aware of says one year after the launch of a new uniform -- I do have to check with the league on how far out you'd have to start the process to have a third jersey for next season, though. Quite honestly, I'd rather Reebok focus their resources right now on getting the uniforms finished and delivered, and then getting the retail versions in stores, before they do work on a third jersey.

I'll make the inquiries, and get full clarification this week. It's not too early to be planning from our end, even though Reebok is probably a little ways out from being able to focus on it.

    Great Tim, I appreciate it.

I knew that I had heard the one year thing before, but some others have argued different. Since I cant trust my memory all the time, I thought I would go to someone who would know.

btw...we have a member with a new baby that needs new uni slothes..do you think that once the merchandise hits the stores, it will be in all sizes, or just the adult ones first?

not really important, but we were discussing it in chat a little while ago.

THE SF UNI LOOKS AWESOME, I FEEL THIS WOULD BE A GREAT 3rd UNI FOR WEEKEND/SUNDAY GAMES.

THIS SHOULD BE A SERIOUS CONSIDERATION.

Come on dude, 3 posts in over a year and you decide to make this one of them?

It's not about failing to move forward, it's more along the lines of wishful thinking. Which is synonymous with the future, which is forward movement on a timeline when you start at the present. So you see, contrary to your earlier statement, our whining is exactly what you're lobbying for. Us moving forward.

ok maybe i phrased myself wrong....3 posts in over a year is right, cause most of the time i just jump on the site to see if there is any rocket NEWS i havent heard about yet....not to see rocket RUMORS or GOSSIP, nothing wrong with it, just not what I am here for...i dont mean to offend anyone, and i apologize if i had, i came into this thread to see what all the fuss was about trying to get houston on the jersey. here is my standpoint on all of it...i am above all a fan of basketball, because of that, and because of the fact that i wish to watch the highest level of basketball i am a fan of the nba, and by virtue of that and living in houston for 14 years or so, i have grown to love the rockets. bottom line for me is that they win, which isnt always the case....i still love them regardless....i love them cause this is where i live and this is the team i watch and choose to root for....i could give a rats about anyone that does or doesnt like the team, i could care less who is buying their jerseys, and i could care less whether or not that person outside of houston, that has bought a jersey, is representing our town.....when i see people with jerseys on, it never crosses my mind anything about the player, the team, or the town.....i am a fan of the rockets regardless of anything else and nothing else matters to me...to me you guys are complaining about something that is meaningless, but obivously i am alone in feeling that way....by moving forward, i am saying argue about something that matters, dont sit and ponder and waste time over something that you basically have no control over...and again, just telling you my perspective on it....i apologize for overstepping anyone elses opinion.

Since I didn't want to start a new thread...

Hey Tim, is it possible to see the other jersey designs (mainly focusing on the rejected one) that were created?

I don't know if there is some legality issue disallowing it, but I figured I would ask.

Also, I think the jerseys look great in the photos. My personal opinion about the shorts is a bit different as of now. I'm not yet used to them. I don't know what it is about them; maybe it seems to jagged to me. And I'm not crazy about the logo on the shorts.

I'm sure many (including myself) will get used to it soon enough.

topfive made some great jerseys. i loved the red and gold one. i don't like any of the black ones though. there are just entirely too many black jerseys in the league. it's boring and played out even if it does look sharp.

Also, I voted yes for Houston on a third jersey. I won't care so much if it doesn't happen to be honest, but I think it would be nice for there to be a jersey with Houston on it.

The red on red jersey idea would probably be the hottest seller in the league. Changes I would suggest (since I don't have access to photoshop can someone please help). The name or "Francis" on this particular jersey should be in silver and the number 3 with silver trimming the white.

Also could someone superimpose the real Rockets' logo
[IMG] onto a pair of the shorts with red on red trim. The color should be altered by having the red trim on the original logo and "rockets" in silver, the ball changing from mustard to red with silver instead of white lines.

Tim, this idea would gaurantee you a hefty raise and the ridiculous amount of job security only matched by owning compromising pictures of Les.
