So far, it looks like the Rockets' summer league squad will include the following players:

    Steve Novak
    Aaron Brooks
    Mike Harris
    Donte Greene
    Joey Dorsey
    Maarty Leunen
    Russell Robinson

Daryl Morey has previously stated that he doubted that Newley and Eliyahu would join the summer league team this year, since each will be playing with his national team. Also, I don't know if Loren Woods (who has more years in the league than the others) will join the team and try to use the summer league to solidify a spot in training camp (in which case his contract would become partially guaranteed).

The obvious area where the Rockets will need to add players for the summer league is at the SG position. The team has its PGs and is set at the forward positions.

If he can steal the ball so efficiently and can make plays for others his poor shootiong can be overlooked. Very few players are perfect. Shaq can't shoot a long jumper and makes few steals but he has Four Championships. :p

Here's a nice article on Chris Lofton.

His game is similar to Gilbert Arenas (a sniper).

I watched Russ Rob in person all year long. He won't ever wow you. He isn't as athletic as Mario Chalmers or Sherron Collins (Clone of Ty Lawson with a brick-wall type build). However, Robinson was the glue that held our team together. He is a true PG in every sense, but he is a borderline NBA player. He will probably end up playing in Europe. Chalmers on the other hand will be a starting PG in the NBA. Robinson was a top 3 defender in the Big 12 each year and does a great job of controlling the flow of the game. I would be surprised if he makes our final roster. I love the guy as he was the true leader for our National Championship team, but he just isn't the answer by any stretch. However, he is more of an NBA PG than Brooks will ever be.

Why? He has regressed each year at Colorado. The Kansas players openly said this about him before our match-ups, and it is so true. Roby will never play in the NBA. He has gone down hill since arriving.

Does that mean his shooting was so bad that he went from lottery to undrafted?

is landry playing the summer league? It will be interesting.

AB, Green, Greene, Landry and Dorsey.

Hope things work out for them, and a few of them end up at the all star game, and be the core for rox for the next 5 years. Wishful thinking. :p

No way Landry plays. He's a free agent and looking to get PAID. He's not going to risk getting injured in summer league play. Plus, if he's not 100% back from his knee injury, he's not going to want to put that on display in the summer league.

I love lofton's game. He is not like Arenas at all. He is foremost a shooter who can take his man off the dribble, but not the best at creating for his teammates. He has quickness enough to play decent-to-good defense. And he is average to good size for a PG. From seeing him play, he seemed athletic, but I don't know his stats.

And he played his senior year on chemotherapy. Seriously, that is ridiculous. Imaging having a disease that is as bad if not completely worse than mono, and playing D-1 ncaa basketball and still playing well enough to help his team be top 10 and a #2 seed in the tourney.

I agree we do need to improve our point guard situation but given that Rafer showed some light in the second half of the season there is some hope because if the Celtics won with Rondo, the Rockets can too if they find a third scorer. All the Championship caliber teams have three regular scorers such as the Celtics, Spurs, Pistons, Hornets and Lakers. Thats the missing piece, hopefully Morey will find it over the summer.

Morey said he's looking for a 3rd scoring option but now the fact is trying fo find defensive pitbulls like Dorsey and Russell Robinson. What's happening? Is he going to trade somebody or anything?
