    Disagree on Pelicans being a bad name, but Smoothie King Center would be terrible.

    Man, from what it looks like on the streets I assumed Smoothie King was done for as a franchise. Didn't realize they were doing well.

    Remember when arenas didn't have rediculous names like Sleep Train arena or other corporate BS? They used to have cool names ie the Summit/Spectrum/Forum/Garden.

    there was still sponsorship though

    the forum was

    The Great Western Forum - after the now defunct Great Western Back

    There has always been the Target Center, the Delta Center etc.

    Its just that now with a lot of the older companies gone and a lot of newer internet based type companies coming you are going to start having funnier sounding names for arena and college bowl games etc.

    I dont really find it to be a huge deal - these corporations as "evil" as they are help keep some of these teams in the city

    I'm guessing they'll charge triple the price for a smoothie than at a normal Smoothie King location.
