    look man,
I am very reasonable and have nothing against anyone...
except people who hate Vernon Maxwell and disrespect The Rockets Championships.

Those people need to be sent to Guantanimo Bay and get beaten by Chinese military people. Those people, I would gladly see suffer!!

Seriously, I do not see the importance of Tibet for China. Cut all ties to that piece of land and let it do whatever it wants to do. If Dalai and his follwers can feed the people and make them propser, more power to them. Don't send over any aid or people, If they want to trade, make them pay market value for everything. If they want other parts of China, they should just say FU!

hey man, that's really cruel. nothing really grows on high altitude. plus a very large % of young male will be monks, thus non productive. someone has to pick up the aid. i don't know who, but it won't be easy to get the aid there.

Who gives a ****. If US, India, England, France or EU wants to take over that land, more power to them. They can go back to have the old system of slaves and serfs, oh I am sure those Tibetans would be happy to have system where 95% of them are starving poor (says the Dalai supporters).

Chinese protesters is a totally different matter. I say let Dailai have that pice of land back, pull out all Han Chinese, cut all ties and make them happy. They should all be jumping through the roofs. Ya it is only two to three million people, I am sure US will take care of them (LOL).

well, you pretty much have to airlift everything there. and the only real opening is to the east. north is a huge desert. west and south are like a huge mountain. the only industry is probably tourism. so ya.

    Tinman,
To be honest with you, I thought you were linke an teenage not capable of understanding world issues and someone I should not treat seriously. Afterall, your handle is "Tinman"! But you seem to be a serious and mature man. :D So I will carry on with you. Dont disappoint me.

Hey, I have been in the States for 15 years now. I embrace what I learnt and experienced here. I really wish China one day would just be like this, an open, free country. But that might just be a wish. Not saying China would be a villian of the World forever, it just occurs to me that the culture heritage, the history momentum are so different between the West and East that China may form into a responsible nation that cannot be imagined or measured by western standards.

China's got problems, hell yeah. If we could, I believe all Chinese arguing here would transform the Country and cure all those damn problems in one day. But, something amiss by folks who doesnt have root in China(1 week visit in Hongknong doenst count) dont understand the issues in China from a perspective as we Chinese see it. It's not just partriotism and all of us brainwashed. Hey I am an U.S. citizen living in the States for 15 years, if there was brainwash or partriotism in favor of the communists, that's long gone. You just have to take my word for it. It's really not fair to say Chinese people are biased robots while may be the accuser is a little biased himself too.

I look at China and China's problem linearly. I understant it's history, I mean know where it came from, how it came, why it came. I think lots of posters here just look at vertically with not much sense of historical context.

I am not in a position to defend China. Lots of the problems like Darfur are indefensible. I am just trying to explain the perspective.

In a larger sense, I do think there is some level of misunderstanding going on in the protests, which somewhat angers Chinese people. Worse it catches up like wild fire by people who has little understanding of the whole picture, except for a few buzz words and basic ideas around them.

Again, I am not a communist applogisit. I just happen to have lived in both worlds and know the difference.

If the Tibetans who live there do not understand this and want their independence, why should that matter to China or Chinese? There is no such thing as having all your wishes granted in this world.

No one ever mention the things China and the Han Chinese did for the Tibetans over the last 30 years, the sacrifice the regular Chinese had to do to bail out the Tibetans economically, all the world seems to care about is freedom, but do they realize freedom does not feed ones belly?

China build a very expensive railroad to Tibet, why? So it could committ cultural genocide in Tibet! If I was Chinese leader I would show the world what it really means to have their freedom only!

Freeing Tibetan slaves was obviously a bad decision on the part of the Chinese government. Many of the children of these former slaves now are against the Chinese government. They should have just lived as slaves so they can worship his holiness the Dalai Lama.

I don't venture here in the D&D too much. But when I do, I'm here to put my stamp on it and dominate the paint like the Dream!

I saw the tank man secene as a teenage in 1989. Funny, and ironic in the same time, this picture sorta becomes a propaganda poster aginst China regardless of what, while maybe the tank man himself as a citizen in Beijing are one of proud hosts of this Olympics.

I guess it's easy to put out the tank man's picture to wholesale your point.

Make no mistake, it wasnt not a pray or begging of me for the rest of world to forgive China. I find it's very condesending of you saying that.

My poor attempts was just trying to show you something that might not be understood. A perspective that is inside of me and many other Chinese.

Criticize China, if we can make it better, crticize it, rain on it, I am for it. Not just right before the Olympics. Leave polictics out of sporting event.

i don't see how its funny or ironic. however i think the conventional thought is that tank man was killed. i may very well be wrong about that.

admittedly, the economic achievements are impressive. yet i fail to see why everything is binary. you can still criticize aspects of china that are incredibly troubling. i love american emphasis on local government, yet can criticize the ability of that aspect being prone to racism throughout our history. similarly while US rhetoric on democracy and freedom is nice, it has a history in promoting its own interest at the expense of its values.

as far as 'leaving politics out of sporting events' why? this is china's own attempt to come onto the world map as a superpower. that is very political. secondly everything is political. the US giving aid to africa is political. olympics were used politically by the us/ussr during the cold war. they were political for germany in the 30s. why would this be different?

    Get this:

Criticize China via UN, rain on China every single time China violates something, make it a freaking routine which should have started 40 years ago.

China just wants host a freaking Olympics. Last time I checked, torches were passed around the globe in every freaking Olympics.

People like you with limited understanding and self-claimed freedom fighter make me frustrated.

you can. but to most Chinese, they believe that if you haven't lived there nor understand the culture, your criticism is unwanted/insult to a lot people.
