Eh... I've seen him 4 times and while they've all been good shows, I really haven't cared for his post-Ten Summoner's Tales material. I really think that was his last good album. Now, if a story about Andy and Stewie joining him on stage were to somehow be leaked, I would probably sell my house and all my belongings for a plane ticket to London and a front row seat! But, alas, that will never happen because Sting is "above" that. RM95, I know. It's just that it's such a huge concert and he might be tempted. But who cares as long as Carter gets a solo during Two Step!
Who I would like to see *yennno...if I could be there live...at those places...all at once...* London Coldplay Dido Keane Killers, The Madonna Paul McCartney Pink Floyd Snoop Dogg Snow Patrol Sting U2 Paris Andrea Bocelli with the Philarmonie der Nationen Craig David Cure, The Dido (TWO PLACES AT ONCE??!?!) Muse Shakira Berlin A-ha Faithless Green Day Roxy Music Sasha Philly Dave Matthews Band Destiny's Child Jay-Z Linkin Park Sarah McLachlan Stevie Wonder Barrie no one
Considering he didn't even do it during an anti-Bush tour, I doubt he'd do it here. And you know I'm with you on that solo!
did you see Sting when he came and played Jones Hall??? that was a fantastic show! i like some, but not all, of his post-Ten Summoner's Tales stuff...but all in all, he's among my 5 favorite musical artists ever.
did yall know that each band only gets something like 15 mins. of stage time?? apparently Floyd is only gonna be playing 4 songs, rumor has 3 of them to be "breathe," "comfortably numb," and ""wish you were here." man i hope they tour........
The fourth song should be the entire version Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Hey, you said 4 songs, right?
Actually, what they should do is these 4 songs: "Comfortably Numb" "Money" "Echoes" "Dogs" Granted the last 2 songs combined equals 40 minutes but hey it's Floyd! Does anyone know what times each act are going to appear? I rather not spend 9 hours tomorrow watching especially when I'll be seeing artists I don't care about. Of course, I am taping it but if I knew the times then I could probably not use 2 tapes for this show.
I read somewhere that it was 25 minutes per set. Either way, it's pretty short. I drove by the stage in Philly on Friday while running errands. Man, it would be impossible to see anything if you were there live. It's at the steps of the Art Museum (the "Rocky" steps), and it didn't look elevated at all to me. So, if you're a block and a half away, all you'll be able to see is the 30 foot tall statue in front of the middle of the stage. Anyone come across a schedule of the acts? As of now, I've got my TiVO set to tape all 8 hours on MTV and VH1, but I'd love to know when different bands are playing. As for Sting, I'm still disappointed there was no Police reunion for this. If Floyd can do it, surely the Police can!
With such a short set, I think this would by my PF preference: Pigs on the wing In the Flesh Run like hell Brain Damage/Eclipse Wish you were here I wonder if that would fit in the time frame
Just started watching it and they showed how the show opened up in London. U2 and Sir Paul played Sgt. Pepper's. Once in a lifetime moment.
I am going to get beat down. But how does this help Africa? Musicians have money. Lots and lots of money.
I can't watch anymore. I can't stand watching these punk ass hosts preach to me. It also pisses me off when they are talking to idiots in the crowd when the band is playing. I wanted to see the Black Eyed Peas sing their latest hit, but they wouldn't STFU. MTV blows. But I'll probably keep watching Cribs and Real World.
